To treat Yin-cold syndrome (Yin Cold Syndrome), characterized by severe abdominal pain potentially leading to death, take a large handful of scallion whites (Cong Bai, Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) roughly the thickness of a teacup. Roll it tightly in paper, trim the ends evenly with a sharp knife, and cut into slices about one finger-thick. Place a slice on the umbilicus (Shenque, CV8) and moxibustion or hot ironing over it using a hot ironing device. Continue until sweating occurs. If one slice is ineffective, replace it with another. Administer oral medicine afterwards. Alternatively, crush the scallions into a paste, apply it to the umbilicus, and perform moxibustion; this method has saved lives when used by me.
Hu Jiao (Piperis Fructus, five qian) Hua Shi (Talcum, processed seven times) She Xiang (Moschus, each one qian)
