Facilitates the large intestine, eliminates toxic accumulations.
Curcumae Radix (Yujin), Realgar (Xionghuang) (each 0.5 liang), Kansui Root (Daji), Mirabilite (Mangxiao) (each 1 liang), Croton Seed (Badou) (40 grains, shelled but oil not removed).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, and bind with wheat paste to form pills the size of mung beans. Take seven to nine pills per dose, crush half a grain of Croton Seed, and swallow with cold clear water. To expel phlegm, decoct White Mulberry Root Bark (Sangbaipi) and Apricot Seed (Xingren), cool the decoction, and swallow the pills with it for immediate effect.
Another prescription: Grind Kansui Root into powder, take three to four qian per dose, mix with clear tea water to administer for immediate effect.
Another prescription: To purge accumulations, use twenty-one seeds of Verniciae Fructus (Jiangzi), equal parts of Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Symplococarpi Flos (Dingxiang), and Persicae Semen (Taoren), grind into a fine powder, bind with wheat paste to form pills the size of mung beans, and swallow with warm clear water.
[Purgative Pill]
Verniciae Fructus (Jiangzi) (1 liang), Fermented Soybean (Douchi) (2 liang).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, bind with wheat paste to form pills. Take seven pills per dose, swallow with clear water for immediate effect. Avoid consuming hot soups or foods. After purgation, replenish the body with warm white rice porridge and rice soup.
[Yellow-Extracting Pill]: Use Toad Venom (Chansu) and refined flour to form pills the size of Chinese honey locust seeds. Place one pill under the tongue to dissolve; jaundice will be expelled immediately.
(Also known as Heart-Protecting Powder.) For patients suffering from carbuncles (Dingchuang) accompanied by irritability, restlessness of hands and feet, and madness, this should be taken urgently.
Licorice Node (Gancao Jie), Mung Bean Powder (Lvdou Fen), Cinnabar (Zhusha) (equal parts).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. For severe cases, mix with water and take orally; highly effective.
Treatment is the same as above.
Musk (Shexiang) (a small amount), Realgar (Xionghuang) (2 qian), Toad Venom (Chansu) (one character weight), Verniciae Fructus (Jiangzi) (7 grains, shelled, roasted over a lamp until carbonized but retaining efficacy).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with butter/oil, and apply to the tongue three times. Allow to dissolve and swallow. The carbuncle will naturally rupture. Do not use iron instruments; this is contraindicated.
For all cases of scrofula (Luoli), regardless of duration, first apply a binding agent to secure the lesion. Then, apply moxibustion starting from the bottom and moving upwards, treating each nodule individually until reaching the primary node (mother nodule). Place a slice of garlic on each acupoint/lesion site, perform five to seven moxa cones per site. Immediately after moxibustion, apply a plaster. Change the plaster once daily; miraculous effects are seen immediately.
[Secret Plaster Prescription]
True Mung Beans (Lvdou) (2.5 liang, stir-fried in a copper pot until yellow and slightly charred), Sandalwood (Tanxiang) (0.5 liang, dried by baking), Torreya Seed (Xiangjie) (Xiangjie stem is also acceptable), Chalcanthite (Danfan) (0.5 liang, genuine material used for extracting toxins and promoting tissue regeneration; omit in subsequent steps), Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao) (each 0.5 liang, for pain relief), Calomel (Qingfen) (box-grade is good, use sparingly), Snake Gallbladder (Nanshe Dan) (optional), Musk (Shexiang) (broken pieces are usable, do not use during initial moxibustion).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take half a liang of the herbal powder, add five liang of bean starch, and mix with rice vinegar to form a paste. Spread onto oiled paper and apply to the affected area. If granulation does not occur, add tissue-regenerating herbs to achieve healing.
