Fanglao Fu (Relapse due to Sexual Exhaustion after Recovery) and Yinyang Yi (Yin-Yang Exchange), although the pathogenesis of these two conditions differs, their clinical manifestations are similar. Relapse caused by sexual activity after illness is termed self-relapse (Fanglao Fu), while transmission of the disease from a sick person to a healthy partner is termed exchange (Yinyang Yi). For both male and female patients, the primary treatment involves using "Shao San" (Burned Powder). Symptoms include acute pain in the lower abdomen radiating to the genitalia, heaviness of the body, shortness of breath, dizziness, tetanic spasms of the limbs, and a sensation of hot qi rushing up to the chest.
[Annotation] When sexual intercourse occurs shortly after recovery, leading to relapse, it is named Fanglao Fu (Relapse due to Sexual Exhaustion). If a recovered male transmits the condition to a healthy female, or a recovered female to a healthy male, it is named Yinyang Yi (Yin-Yang Exchange), implying an exchange of essence. For those suffering from this condition, males should use the crotch area of the female patient's underwear burned to ash, and females should use the crotch area of the male patient's underwear burned to ash. These ashes should be taken with warm water or wine, three times daily, for cure. The symptoms include acute pain in the lower abdomen radiating to the genitalia, heaviness of the body, shortness of breath, dizziness, tetanic spasms of the limbs, and hot qi rushing to the chest.
There are five types of syndromes resembling Taiyang Exogenous Disease (Taiyang Biao Zheng): headache, fever, aversion to wind and cold; Phlegm Retention syndrome features no stiffness/pain in the head and neck, but presents with chest fullness, difficulty breathing, and qi rushing to the throat; Food Stagnation syndrome features aversion to food, absence of body pain, epigastric stuffiness, flatus, belching with sour regurgitation; Hongxiangjiao (Jiaogi/Foot-rot) syndrome features swelling and pain in the feet, knees, and calves, or dryness with constipation; Deficiency Heat Restlessness syndrome features slight fever and restlessness without exterior or interior signs; Internal Abscess syndrome features normal appetite, requiring examination of the pain source: Lung Abscess presents with wheezing, cough, chest pain radiating to the back, sticky foul-smelling sputum purulent discharge; Stomach Abscess presents with severe stomach pain intolerable to touch; Intestinal Abscess presents with hardness and swelling/pain in the lower abdomen, rough skin like fish scales, abdominal urgency, frequent urination resembling strangury, which must be distinguished carefully.
[Annotation] The five syndromes resembling Taiyang Exogenous Disease initially present similarly to exterior syndromes. First is Phlegm Retention: characterized only by chest fullness, inability to breathe deeply, qi rushing to the throat, and lack of head/neck stiffness, differing from Taiyang Exogenous Disease. Second is Food Stagnation: characterized only by absence of body pain, epigastric stuffiness, flatus, belching, and sour regurgitation, differing from Taiyang Exogenous Disease. Third is Hongxiangjiao (Jiaogi): characterized only by onset in the feet, swelling and pain in the feet, knees, and calves, or dryness and pain (termed Dry Hongxiangjiao), with hard stool, differing from Taiyang Exogenous Disease. Fourth is Deficiency Heat Restlessness: characterized only by fever and restlessness without exterior or interior signs, differing from Taiyang Exogenous Disease. Fifth is Internal Abscess: resembling Taiyang Exogenous Disease in appearance, but with normal diet and specific painful abscess sites, differing from Taiyang Exogenous Disease. Dull pain in the chest, possibly with wheezing or cough, and sticky foul sputum indicates Lung Abscess. Severe pain in the stomach region, intolerable to touch, indicates Stomach Abscess. Heavy pain in the lower abdomen, frequent urination resembling strangury, and rough skin indicate Intestinal Abscess.
