Take *Cucumeris Fructus* (Gua Di, 瓜蒂) and grind it into powder. Hold water in the mouth. Snuff a "yi" (a traditional unit of weight, approx. 0.3-0.5g) of the powder into the nostrils. The illness is cured when yellow fluid is discharged. Subsequently, wipe the body with ginger residue and *Artemisiae Scopariae Herba* (Yin Chen, 茵陈); the yellow discoloration will diminish.
It primarily treats patients with dampness presenting with jaundice, headache, and other symptoms.
Method for Arresting Vomiting
Add natural ginger juice to the medicinal decoction, along with a small amount of stir-fried scorched *Oryza Sativa* (Jing Mi, 粳米). Immediately insert a bamboo tube deeply into Neiguan (PC6, Pericardium 6). The vomiting will cease. However, for patients with Stomach Excess syndrome, *Oryza Sativa* (Jing Mi, 粳米) is contraindicated.
Qimeng (LR14, Liver 14): For women, this point is located at the end of the line extending downward from the nipple, within the intercostal space where arterial pulsation is felt. For men with smaller breasts, use one finger's width as the standard; the point is located in the depression where arterial pulsation is felt. Moxibustion should be applied to the left side for men and the right side for women, three to five moxa cones (zhuang).
It primarily treats hiccups caused by Yin-Cold.
First, prepare fine powder from *Magnoliae Flos* (Zao Jiao, 皂荚), *Moschus* (She Xiang, 麝香), *Asari Radix et Rhizoma* (Xi Xin, 细辛), and raw alum (Sheng Ming Fan, 生明矾). Mix with ginger juice and administer orally. Then, dip a goose feather in tung oil mixed with *Magnoliae Flos* (Zao Jiao, 皂荚) powder, insert it into the throat to induce vomiting.
For all types of Cold Knotting, Water Knotting, Food Knotting, Pi Syndrome Knotting, Blood Knotting, Phlegm Knotting, and Zhi Syndrome Knotting, use four to five jin (approx. 2-2.5 kg) of fresh ginger. Crush it into a paste, wring out most of the juice, and take the residue. Stir-fry the residue until hot, wrap it loosely in thin silk cloth, and massage the chest and abdomen. The condition will resolve spontaneously. Replace with fresh hot residue if it cools down, continuing until recovery. For Heat Knotting only, use cold ginger residue for massage; stir-frying is strictly prohibited.
It primarily treats all types of stagnation and Jie Xiong (Chest Binding) syndrome.
*Moschus* (She Xiang, 麝香), *Pinelliae Tuber* (Ban Xia, 半夏), *Magnoliae Flos* (Zao Jiao, 皂荚)
Grind these in equal proportions into powder and fill into the umbilicus. Place slices of fresh ginger, approximately two cash coins thick, on the umbilicus. Apply large moxa cones on top of the ginger slices and moxibustate fourteen times (two sevens). This allows heat energy to penetrate internally and forces cold out externally. Stop when the hands and feet become warm. Subsequently, administer medicines containing ginger and aconite (*Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata*, Fu Zi, 附子).
It primarily treats Yin syndromes characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, cold extremities, lethargy/coma, epigastric distension and hardness like ice, inability to retain fluids/medicines, cyanosis of lips, face, and fingernails, and a deep, faint pulse nearly imperceptible.
Realgar (Xiong Huang, 雄黄), *Phaseoli Semen* (Chi Xiao Dou, 赤小豆), *Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Dan Shen, 丹参), *Euonymi Ramulus cum Spina* (Gui Jian Yu, 鬼箭羽)
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, bind with refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take five pills daily on an empty stomach with warm water. Even if sleeping in the same bed as a patient, one will not contract the disease. It treats all epidemic diseases during their prevalence, preventing transmission.
