Syndrome of dampness: Pain throughout the entire body; in severe cases, jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes), severe joint pain, fever, nasal congestion; sometimes abdominal distension and enlargement, with normal or loose stools. The pulse is deep and slow. For the above-mentioned syndromes of dampness, first use Shuangjie San (Double-Resolving Powder) to induce mild sweating, followed by Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Poria Pill) or Danshen San (Light-Purging Powder), or Guiling Ganlu Yin (Cassia Twig and Atractodes Sweet Dew Decoction). If Guiling Ganlu Yin fails to cure, switching to Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for Detoxification) will result in recovery. Question: Why? Answer: If the medicinal properties possess the sweet flavor that generates Earth, it belongs to the Earth element. Therefore, using Fire-natured drugs to dry Dampness and strengthen Spleen Earth leads to recovery.
Syndrome of simultaneous invasion by wind and cold: Headache, stiffness of the neck, limb pain, and warm hands and feet indicate Wind-stroke (Zhongfeng); conversely, absence of sweat, aversion to cold, and a floating-tight pulse indicate Cold damage (Shanghan). Alternatively, headache and neck pain, stiffness of the waist and spine, bodily rigidity and urgency, slight coldness at the fingertips, and absence of spontaneous sweating indicate Cold damage; conversely, irritability and a slow pulse indicate Wind injury. Wind injures Wei Qi (Defensive Qi), while Cold injures Ying Blood (Nutritive Blood). When both Ying and Wei are injured, resulting in severe heat in both exterior and interior, Dachinglong Tang (Major Blue Dragon Decoction) is generally appropriate, or Shuangjie San (Double-Resolving Powder) is most excellent.
If the pulse is deep from the onset with internal pathology but external harmony, it is an Internal Injury (Neishang); if the pulse is floating with external pathology but internal harmony, it is an External Injury (Waishang). Pathology located in the body and four limbs is termed Exterior Disease (Biao Bing); pathology within the chest and abdomen is termed Interior Disease (Li Bing). For internal injuries, Tongshensan (Godly Spirit Powder) is used; for external injuries, Shuangjie San (Double-Resolving Powder) is used; for all types of internal and external injuries, Tongsheng San (Universal Protection Powder) is used. However, Shuangjie San (Double-Resolving Powder) is preferable due to its balanced nature; these three methods are highly effective.
Injuries caused by wind, cold, summerheat, dampness, hunger, fullness, overwork, rest, worry, thought, anger, fear, and sorrow; various pathogens from the four seasons affecting the interior and exterior. Whenever there is fever, headache, rigidity, fatigue, and painful stiffness, regardless of spontaneous sweating or lack thereof, aversion to cold with fever, thirst or lack of thirst, and whether the condition is mild or severe; for cold damage, epidemics, Lianggan syndrome (simultaneous involvement of two meridians), miscellaneous wind diseases, and exacerbations of old diseases, Shuangjie San (Double-Resolving Powder) is suitable for both interior and exterior within three days. If the pathogenic influence is strong and difficult to resolve initially, regular consumption of Shuangjie San over two to three days can gradually alleviate symptoms without causing harm. In cases of extreme interior heat, abdominal fullness and solid pain, irritability, thirst, and delirium requiring purgation, Sanyi Chengqi Tang (Three-One Descending Qi Decoction) is optimal. If not cured after purgation, if purgative indications are incomplete, if rebellious Qi occurs before or after profuse sweating, if residual heat persists after sweating, if residual heat recurs due to exertion, if infected by others' pathogenic qi, transmitted via sweat toxins, or affected by miasma, sheep qi, cattle qi, all foul toxins, as well as lacquer toxicity, alcohol toxicity, food toxicity, drug toxicity, trauma from falls or blows, chronic dizziness and headaches, stroke with hemiplegia, tetanus, "washing head wind," wind epilepsy, postpartum disorders in women, infantile convulsions with accumulated heat, sores, ulcers, rashes, and smallpox, regardless of the number of days, administering Shuangjie San (Double-Resolving Powder) promotes the free flow of Qi and Blood throughout the body and interior-exterior, leading to complete recovery. However, Shuangjie San is a potent remedy; it should be avoided in pregnant women, postpartum women, those with excessive menstrual bleeding, and those with diarrhea. It is most suitable for the elderly, who will benefit from its transformative power.
