From the Zhu Gu (the bone at the root of the neck) downward to the center of the axilla, the length is 4 cun.
From below the axilla to the Ji Xie (the lower costal margin), the length is 1 chi 2 cun.
From below the Ji Xie to the Bi Shu (the junction between the upper thigh and the lower part of the Jian bone, corresponding to the Huan Tiao acupoint of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian), the length is 6 cun.
From below the Bi Shu to the center of the knee, the length is 1 chi 9 cun.
From the upper border of the Heng Gu (pubic bone) to the upper border of the Nei Fu (inner condyle of the tibia), the length is 1 chi 8 cun (the edge of a bone is called "Lian"; the protruding bones beside the knee are called "Fu Gu", with the inner one being Nei Fu and the outer one being Wai Fu).
From below the upper border of the Nei Fu to its lower border, the length is 3.5 cun (both the upper and lower borders can be palpated).
From below the lower border of the Nei Fu to the medial malleolus, the length is 1 chi 2 cun.
From below the medial malleolus to the ground, the length is 3 cun.
From the shoulder to the elbow, the length is 1 chi 7 cun.
From the elbow to the wrist, the length is 1 chi 2.5 cun (the middle segment of the arm is called the elbow).
From the wrist to the base of the middle finger (the proximal interphalangeal joint area), the length is 4 cun (the junction between the arm and palm is called the wrist).
From the base of the middle finger to its tip, the length is 4.5 cun.
From below the knee to the lateral malleolus, the length is 1 chi 6 cun.
From below the knee to the Fu Shu (the popliteal fossa posteriorly; Fu refers to the dorsum of the foot; since the knee is anterior and the popliteal fossa is posterior, Fu Shu refers to the areas around the anterior and posterior aspects of both malleoli where the tibia meets the sole), the length is 1 chi 2 cun.
From below the Fu Shu to the ground, the length is 3 cun.
From below the lateral malleolus to the ground, the length is 1 cun.
The length of the foot is 1 chi 2 cun, and its width is 4.5 cun.
Note: The Bone Proportions method originates from the "Bone Proportions" chapter of the *Ling Shu Jing* (Spiritual Pivot), discussing the lengths of bones according to ancient standards. However, individuals with larger bones exceed these measurements, while those with smaller bones fall short; this text merely states the general standard. For measuring the limbs and body using proportional folding methods, the Front-Middle Finger Cun method is appropriate. The measurement technique for Cun based on individual proportions is detailed in the *Ci Jiu Zhao Jian Gu Ge Tu* (Illustrations for Acupuncture and Moxibustion Examination of Bone Structure) (lost) and the *Xi Yuan Lu Shi Ge Tu* (Illustrations of Corpse Forms in the Xi Yuan Lu) (lost).
