Traumatic injuries, although treated with manual manipulation, may not be handled optimally, leading to the suffering of "treatment being as if no treatment had occurred." In such cases, one cannot claim that the medical principles are comprehensive. Therefore, based on the anatomical features of the upper and lower body, as well as the anterior-posterior and lateral aspects, instruments are fabricated to correct deformities. These instruments assist where manual techniques fall short, aiming to reunite separated bones, straighten distorted bodies, level protrusions, and elevate depressions. Consequently, critical conditions can be stabilized, and severe injuries can be mitigated. Furthermore, by applying medicinal efficacy and providing guidance on proper convalescence, the art of bone-setting becomes complete.

The Rope-Pulling Method involves suspending a rope from a high place and pulling it with the hands for traction.

The Brick-Stacking Method involves arranging six bricks into two columns (left and right), stacking three bricks in each column, and stepping on them with both feet.
Detailed usage is described in Rule 15.

The Lumbar Support consists of four pieces of Chinese fir wood, shaped like a carrying pole, one inch wide and half an inch thick. The length is determined by the affected area. Holes are drilled on the sides of each piece, which are then connected and threaded through with ropes.

For lumbar sprains or strains resulting in qi stagnation, standard treatments are applied. However, if there is dislocation of the lumbar vertebrae, rupture of the paraspinal muscles, or deviation and curvature of the tendons, Ding Tong San (Pain-Stopping Powder) mixed with vinegar is applied onto the Lumbar Support. Observing the injury site, the supports are arranged alongside the spinal column, ensuring they are perfectly aligned. A thin mattress made from Qi Ai (Artemisia argyi) is then placed over the supports to protect against wind and cold. A wide, long cloth belt is wrapped around the abdomen and tightly secured. Internal medication is administered for regulation, leading to natural recovery.

The Wooden Board utilizes extremely thin sheets of Chinese fir. Sheets similar to those used for pastry boxes are ideal. The method involves first wrapping the injured area with white cloth strips for two to three layers. Then, the board is placed over the surrounding area, wrapped again with cloth, and finally covered externally with a Shan Li (Fir Splint).
Detailed usage is described in Rule 16.

The Shan Li (Fir Splint) is a device used for compression and stabilization. It is crafted from Chinese fir according to the dimensions (length, width) and contours (curved, straight, convex, concave) of the injury site. The number of splint pieces is carefully considered, and their order is clearly recorded to avoid confusion. A hole is drilled at both ends of each piece, which are then linked together with ropes, resembling a fence, hence the name. It is wrapped around the exterior of the wooden board to provide firm support and prevent displacement of fractured bones.
