Due to postpartum worry, fright, fatigue, and overwork, excessive blood loss occurs, resulting in palpitations and restlessness of the heart, which is termed *Zhengchong* (Palpitations/Anxiety). If there is sudden alarm and fear, with a timid and apprehensive mind as if someone were about to capture one, this is termed *Jingji* (Frightened Palpitations).
To treat these two conditions, harmonizing the Spleen and Stomach, and stabilizing the will and clarifying the spirit will lead to recovery. If blood stasis clots have not yet dissipated after delivery, it is appropriate to take *Shenghua Tang* (Transforming Stasis Decoction) to nourish blood and move stasis; when blood volume recovers, Zhengchong will subside and Jingji will calm, without the need for additional sedative or calming formulas. If this condition arises after the clots have dissipated and pain has ceased, it is appropriate to take *Jiajian Yangrong Tang* (Modified Nourishing Younger Brother Decoction).
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (2 qian), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) (2 qian), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood) (1 qian), Renshen (Radix Ginseng) (1 qian), Zaoren (Semen Ziziphi Spinosae, stir-fried) (1 qian), Maidong (Radix Ophiopogonis) (1 qian), Yuanzhi (Radix Polygalae) (1 qian), Baizhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) (1 qian), Huangqi (Radix Astragali, honey-fried) (1 qian), Yuanrou (Arillus Longan) (8 pieces), Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae) (4 fen), Zhigancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata) (4 fen).

For deficiency-heat irritability, add Zhuli (Nodus Bambusae in Taenia) and Jiangzhi (Zingiberis Juice); remove Chuanxiong and Maidong, and add a lump of Zhuru (Caulis Bambusae in Taenia); adding Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae) transforms it into *Guipi Tang* (Restore the Spleen Decoction).
*Yangxin Tang* (Nourish the Heart Decoction): Treats unsettled heart-blood and restless spirit after childbirth.

Take 30-40 pills per dose, washed down with clear soup. If upper jiao heat is predominant, take after meals.
