Intestinal Drainage (Da Chang Xie): Manifests as borborygmus accompanied by severe pain. Treatment should first employ cold-natured agents to purge the pathogen, followed by sweet-natured agents to differentiate and harmonize Yin and Yang.
Small Intestine Drainage (Xiao Chang Xie): Manifests as dysuria with pus and blood in the stool, and pain in the lower abdomen. Cold-natured agents should be used to purge, followed by bland and sweet agents to dissipate the pathogenic factors.
Tenesmus (Li Ji Hou Zhong): Manifests as an urgent need to defecate but frequent trips to the toilet with inability to pass stool. Treatment should first employ clear and cold agents to purge, followed by bland and sweet agents to dissipate. If accompanied by pain in the urethra, the treatment is the same.
Sudden Diarrhea with Undigested Food (Sun Xie): Wind injury in spring leads to Sun Xie in summer. Undigested food consumed at night also results in Sun Xie. For Sun Xie caused by wind, treatment should first employ dispersing agents, followed by bland and sweet agents to differentiate and dissipate.
Cavity Diarrhea (Dong Xie): Wind injury in spring causes pathogenic factors to linger, resulting in Dong Xie with brown watery stools. The treatment method is the same as above. Additionally, moxibustion on Shuifen (CV9) acupoint is suitable. When dampness is located below, bitter agents should be used to disperse it upward.
Dong Xie with Middle Jiao Cold: Also known colloquially as Rest Dysentery. Dong Xie belongs to the Wood element of Jia-Yi wind; moxibustion can be applied to Qihai (CV6), Shuifen (CV9), and Zusanli (ST36). Harsh hot medicines must be avoided. If urine becomes astringent, the condition worsens; if feet swell and the abdomen is full, death occurs on Geng-Xin days; if the body emits a corpse-like odor, it is incurable.
Huo Luan (Cholera-like Syndrome): Manifests as vomiting and diarrhea of undigested food, causing chaos of Yin and Yang Qi. Bland agents can be taken, mixed with ice water, and administered in one dose for recovery.
Zhu Xia (Violent Diarrhea): Caused by excessive Fire Qi. Cool agents are suitable, along with bland agents mixed with ice water, administered in one dose for recovery. This refers to violent diarrhea that does not stop.
Zhong Gu (Edema and Distension): Closure and astringency of the Sanjiao (Triple Burner), failure of water pathways, water filling the skin, and body bloating and swelling. Surging (emetic), dispersing (diaphoretic), and purging agents are suitable.
Distension: Turbid Qi stagnates in the upper part and does not dissipate. Muxiang Binglang Wan (Aucklandiae and Bitter Orange Pill) and Qingpi (Green Tangerine Peel) can be taken. If it belongs to turbid Qi rebellion of the Large Intestine or clear Qi rebellion of Lung Metal, recovery occurs when Qi transformation is restored.
Borborygmus: Occurs due to the struggle between dryness and dampness; presence of dampness in the middle causes borborygmus; attack between fire and dampness also causes borborygmus. The treatment method is the same as above, with significant efficacy.
Zhi Man Tang (Fullness and Loose Stools): Upper fullness precedes diarrhea, and lower diarrhea is followed by renewed upper fullness. The treatment method is the same. Prolonged cases turn into cold syndromes, treated similarly to Middle Cold. If loose stools are due to intestinal cold, the principle applies. Rheumatic wind can also cause Zhi Man.

Guang Chang Yong (Abscess of the Rectum): The treatment method is the same. Dahuang Qianniu Wan/San (Rhubarb and Black Mustard Pill/Powder) and purging methods are suitable; dryness and astringency are treated similarly. Hemorrhoids, fistulas, Guang Chang Yong, and Chang Feng bleeding are all treated according to the Zang Du method.

The *Neijing* states: "Due to overeating, tendons and vessels relax transversely, leading to hemorrhoids in the intestines." It belongs to the Large Intestine Meridian; Zhiqiao (Aurantii Fructus) type herbs can be taken. Da Pi (Mass accumulation) generating Chang Feng is connected to Ru Zhi.
