Treatment for unbearable pain in the brow bone:
Zhi Gancao (Prepared Licorice Root) [3 qian], Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) [3 qian], Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [3 qian], Jiu Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix processed with wine) [1 qian] (Do not use this herb in winter; if the patient has a good appetite and the pain is due to heat, double the dosage).
The above herbs are chopped. Take 5 qian per dose, add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains, strain, and take after meals.

Shenxiao Mingmu Tang (Divine Effect Brightening Eye Decoction):
For symptoms of tight eyelids causing inverted eyelashes and curled cilia, redness and ulceration of the upper and lower eyelids, eye pain, dim vision, constant cold tears during the day, and dry, difficult-to-open eyes at night.
Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) [2 fen], Manjingzi (Viticis Fructus) [5 fen], Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [1 qian], Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) [1.5 qian], Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) [2 qian].
Another prescription adds Huangqi (Astragali Radix) [1 qian].
The above herbs are chopped as one dose. Add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains, strain, and take while slightly warm before bedtime.

Qianghuo Dianyi Gao (Notopterygium Ointment for Removing Nebula, also known as Fuming Gao):
For conditions where cold-water qi of the Foot-Taiyang bladder meridian forms a membrane covering the pupil, with white nebula located superiorly, causing blurred vision.
Bencao (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix) [2 fen], Han Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) [2 fen], Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) [3 fen], Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [3 fen], Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, roots and nodes removed) [3 fen], Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) [3 fen], Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) [3 fen], Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix) [3 fen], Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) [7 fen], Sheng Gancao (Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) [4 fen], Dangguishen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix body) [6 fen], Ruiren (Pruni Armeniacae Semen) [6 seeds], Jiaoshu gen (Roots of Zanthoxylum tree, southeast direction 2 fen, northwest direction 2 fen).
Use one large bowl of clean water. First decoct Han Fangji, Huanglian, Sheng Gancao, Danggui, and Shengdi until half the liquid remains. Then add the remaining herbs and decoct until one zhan remains. Strain and further boil in a silver vessel until concentrated and potent.

Treatment for redness and mild pain in both eyes, photophobia, aversion to wind and cold, fear of fire, matted eyelashes, excessive sticky discharge, dull dryness making eyes hard to open, swelling and stuffiness at the brow, nasal congestion, thick sputum and saliva, and slightly hard stool:
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) [5 fen], Sheng Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix, wine-processed) [6 fen], Manjingzi (Viticis Fructus) [6 fen], Dangguisha (Angelicae Sinensis Radix tip) [1 qian], Baifuling (Poria) [1 qian], Bencao (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix) [1 qian], Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica) [1.2 qian], Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [2 qian], Mahuanggen (Ephedrae Herba root) [3 qian], Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) [3 qian], Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) [a small amount], Honghua (Carthami Flos) [a small amount], Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) [8 grains], Taoren (Persicae Semen) [20 kernels].
The above herbs are chopped and divided into four doses. For each dose, add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains, strain, and take while slightly warm before bedtime. Avoid alcohol, vinegar, and damp wheat products.
