Treatment for Huang Gan (Yellow Malnutrition): Earth element corresponds to Heat and Dampness; urine should be difficult but is now free-flowing. The yellow color indicates Dryness due to excessive Heat in the Stomach Meridian causing hair/skin loss. The Bladder and Kidney are affected by Earth pathogen. This is a syndrome of severe Damp-Heat. Cracks and sores below the nose indicate reversal of Earth Qi and latent Fire in Ying Qi. Ability to eat indicates Heat in the Stomach. Aversion to cold and inability to eat indicates deficiency. Preference for eating earth indicates Stomach deficiency. Black facial color indicates Cold and Bi syndrome. Green stools indicate Cold; brown indicates Blood stasis; black indicates Heat with blood accumulation; yellow center indicates Heat in the Intestines. The treatment method should nourish Ying blood, moisten dryness, eliminate Cold and Heat, and generate fluids.
