Dao regards Jing (Essence) as a treasure. Its emission generates humans, while its retention nourishes the self. Nourishing the self leads to seeking the position of an Immortal; generating humans means that once the merit is accomplished, one retreats. If one retreats after accomplishing merit but falls into desire, it becomes intense. How much more so is it to recklessly emit and abandon [health], where damage is unnoticed yet accumulates, leading to fatigue and the fall of life span. Heaven and Earth possess Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang are what humans revere. Revering them must align with Dao; one should be cautious and avoid waste. Peng Zu said: "Superior men sleep in separate beds, average men use separate quilts. Taking a thousand doses of medicine is not as good as sleeping alone." Beauty blinds the eyes, sound deafens the ears, and taste dulls the palate. If one can regulate the way of the bedroom, appropriately balancing openness and closure, longevity can be increased. The taboo for one day: do not eat until full at night (eating until full and then sleeping damages one day's lifespan). The taboo for one month: do not get drunk at night (sleeping while drunk damages one month's lifespan). The taboo for one year: avoid sexual intercourse at night (one act damages one year's lifespan, which cannot be recovered by nurturing). The lifelong taboo: protect Qi at night (when sleeping at night, practice closing the mouth; opening the mouth loses Qi. Furthermore, evil pathogens enter through the mouth). Cai Nu asked Peng Zu: "When a person reaches sixty years old, should they close their Jing and guard the One? Is this correct?" Peng Zu replied: "Incorrect. Men do not wish to be without women. Without women, the mind stirs; when the mind stirs, the Spirit labors; when the Spirit labors, lifespan is damaged. If one's thoughts are pure and devoid of desire, that is excellent, but this happens in ten thousand cases only once. Forcing suppression is difficult to maintain and easily lost, causing leakage of Jing and turbid urine, leading to the disease of 'ghostly intercourse.' Also, if one wishes to engage in sexual intercourse with a woman while the Qi has not yet stirred and the Yang organ is weak, one should first agitate the body to induce erection, then gently engage, allowing the reception of Yin Qi. Pushed by Yin Qi, it will naturally become strong. Once strong, proceed slowly and sparingly. Stop when Jing moves. Close the Jing, slow the breath, lie down with eyes closed, perform Daoyin (guiding and pulling exercises), and then one may engage with another woman. Changing partners for each act promotes longevity. Engaging with the same woman repeatedly diminishes Yin Qi, yielding little benefit. Yang corresponds to Fire, and Yin corresponds to Water. Water controls Fire; similarly, Yin dissipates Yang. Prolonged use without cessation causes Yin to absorb Yang, leading to further loss of Yang, where gains do not compensate for losses. If one can engage with twelve women without ejaculating, one will retain beauty in old age. If one engages with ninety-three women without ejaculating, one may live ten thousand years. Scarcity of Jing leads to illness; exhaustion of Jing leads to death. This must be approached with caution. Intercourse multiple times with occasional ejaculation allows Jing to grow, preventing deficiency. Frequent intercourse with ejaculation depletes Jing, preventing regeneration, leading to exhaustion. In marriage, frequent intercourse without ejaculation preserves the essence that would otherwise be lost, enabling frequency. Ejaculating twice a month allows natural regeneration of Jing, though erection may be slower than with frequent non-ejaculatory intercourse. (Cai Nu attained the Dao early, understood nature-nurturing, lived to 170 appearing as 15. She served the King of Yin and asked Peng Zu for advice.) Peng Zu said: "Adultery shortens life not due to ghosts or gods, but because of vulgar intentions, stirring Jing to ejaculate, striving to satisfy the partner, exhausting oneself without satiety, harming rather than nourishing. This causes panic, mania, wasting-thirst, madness, or foul ulcers due to Jing loss. After ejaculation, perform Daoyin to replenish the area; otherwise, blood vessels, marrow, and brain daily decline, inviting Wind-Dampness and disease. This is because laypeople do not know the appropriateness of tonification and purgation in this context." Peng Zu said: "Men need women, and women need men. Loneliness with longing for intercourse damages lifespan and breeds a hundred diseases, attracting spirits. Losing Jing during intercourse is equivalent to a hundredfold loss. To conceive children who are long-lived, wise, and wealthy, it is best to emit Jing on the Moon's Mansion days (recorded below). Tian Zhi said: Humans contain the Five Virtues, and although forms are similar, status varies due to parents' union under the Eight Stars and Yin-Yang timing. If timing is off, the child is middle-class; if timing is right but mansion is wrong, the child is upper-class; if both are wrong, the child is ordinary. Union during proper mansion days brings wealth and honor to offspring and benefits the self, a great omen. (The Eight Stars are Shi, Shen, Jing, Gui, Liu, Zhang, Xin, Dou. When the moon resides in these stars, it is auspicious for Yin-Yang union to seek offspring.) Days 2, 3, 5, 9, and 20 of the lunar month are Wang-Xiang (Prosperous/Strong) days of vital energy. Intercourse on these days multiplies benefits fivefold, preserving blood and Qi, preventing illness. Perform gentle stimulation ('playing with Jade Spring' and 'drinking Jade Fluid') between midnight and cockcrow on these days. For union, choose Jia-Yin/Yi-Mao in Spring, Bing-Wu/Ding-Wei in Summer, Geng-Shen/Xin-You in Autumn, Ren-Zi/Gui-Hai in Winter, combined with auspicious mansion days for greater benefit. To conceive, wait one, three, or five days after menstruation ends, select a Wang-Xiang day, and emit Jing after midnight when Qi is generated. Sons born will be male, long-lived, and wise. Wang-Xiang days refer to Jia-Yi in Spring, Bing-Ding in Summer, Geng-Xin in Autumn, Ren-Gui in Winter. Health preservation hinges on cherishing Jing. Ejaculating twice a month or on the 24 Solar Terms allows living to 120. With herbal support, immortality is possible. The problem is youth ignores Dao, knowing it but not practicing; old age realizes it too late, making recovery hard. Late preservation still extends life. Practicing in youth makes immortality attainable. *Classic of Immortals* says: For mutual immortality, insert deeply without moving, visualize red Qi in the navel size of a chicken egg, move slowly, withdraw when Jing stirs. Doing this dozens of times daily increases longevity. Both partners rest, sharing intent, focusing intensely. Daoist Liu Jing said: Emit every three days in Spring, twice a month in Summer/Autumn, retain completely in Winter. Heaven stores Yang in Winter; emulating this grants longevity. One act in Winter equals a hundred in Spring. Daoist Kuai said: At sixty, one should cease all sexual activity. If one can engage without emitting, they may still interact with women. If unable, complete abstinence is best. Hundreds of medicines cannot match this for longevity. Dao Lin said: The root of life determines destiny. Even with great herbs, breathing exercises, and myriad practices, ignoring the root is futile. The root is like a tree: branches and leaves without roots cannot survive long. The root is sexual conduct. Thus, sages say: To live long, understand the source of life. Sexual conduct can generate life or kill. Like water and fire, proper use nurtures, misuse kills immediately. Intercourse while drunk or full is strictly forbidden, damaging health a hundredfold. Urinating while holding urine during intercourse causes strangury, difficulty urinating, penile pain, or lower abdominal tension. Intercourse after extreme anger causes carbuncles and sores. Taboos in the bedroom: New moons, full moons, quarter moons, eclipses, severe wind/rain, earthquakes, thunder/lightning, extreme heat/cold, seasonal transitions, and five days before/after funerals/welcoming guests are prohibited. Yin-Yang birth dates and annual/monthly taboos are especially critical (Yin-Yang mismatch harms blood/Qi, expelling righteousness and admitting evil, severely damaging healthy Qi—be warned). Freshly washed hair, post-exertion fatigue, and extreme joy/anger prohibit intercourse. Peng Zu said: One must know these regulations and avoid extreme cold/heat, wind/rain/snow, eclipses, earthquakes, and thunder (Heaven's Taboos). Drunkenness/fullness, joy/anger, sorrow/fear constitute Human Taboos. Mountains, rivers, shrines, altars, wells, and stoves constitute Earth Taboos. Avoiding these three allows selecting auspicious days: Jia-Yi in Spring, Bing-Ding in Summer, Geng-Xin in Autumn, Ren-Gui in Winter, Wu-Ji in seasonal transition months. These are Wang-Xiang days suitable for harmonious unions, promoting longevity and healthy offspring. Violating taboos causes illness and short-lived offspring. Laozi said: Returning Jing to nourish the brain prevents aging. *Classic of Zi Du* said: Emission method requires 'weak entry, strong exit' (Insert the penis gently between the teeth, then withdraw firmly; gentle insertion is 'weak entry, strong exit'. Regulate to eighty movements, completing the Yang number, which is optimal). Laozi said: 'Weak entry, strong exit' is the art of life; 'strong entry, weak exit' leads to premature death. This is the meaning.
