Treats spleen and stomach disharmony caused by dietary injury, impending diarrhea and dysentery, as well as epigastric fullness and oppression, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, and dysentery caused by emotional injuries.
When regulating the spleen and stomach to eliminate residual pathogenic factors, this formula possesses the functions of transforming the spleen, moving qi, tonifying, and resolving stagnation. It is applied flexibly (yielding excellent results).
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, earth-fried, 2 liang), Hei Zhi Shi (Immature Bitter Orange, bran-fried, 1 liang), Ban Xia Qu (Pinelliae Fermentum, authentic, 1.5 liang), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white part removed, 1 liang), Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus, fried, 7 qian half), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma, vinegar-soaked, sun-dried, fried, 1 liang), Mai Ya Mian (Hordei Fructus Germinatus powder, 1 liang, fried), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix, not exposed to fire, 5 qian), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, ginger juice-fried, 5 qian in winter, 1 liang in summer), Shen Qu (Mashii Fermentum, fried, 1 liang). If phlegm is present, add Zhu Li (Bambusa Textilis Sap, half bowl) and Jiang Zhi (Zingiberis Recens Juice, two zhan).
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. The powder is mixed with old rice paste using decoction of Bo He (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 70–80 pills each time, administered shortly after meals with plain warm water.
Regulating the spleen and stomach after diarrhea or dysentery is extremely stable and has proven effective repeatedly.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, 1.5 liang, white part removed), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, earth-fried, 2 liang), Bai Fu Ling (Poria, peel removed, 1.5 liang), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, 1 liang), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, ginger juice-fried, 1.5 liang), Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus, fried, 1 liang), Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen, fried, 2 liang), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix, radix stem removed, fried, 1 liang), Lian Rou (Nelumbinis Semen, peel and plumule removed, 1.5 liang).
If weakness persists after dysentery, use Shi Lian Rou (Nelumbinis Semen, stone core) combined with Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma): soak Huang Lian with Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) for half a day, stir-fry until dry with the juice, then remove Wu Zhu Yu (1 liang). For other cases of spleen and stomach deficiency requiring regulation and tonification, simply follow this formula.
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. Mix with half late-rice paste and half honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 70–80 pills each time, administered shortly after meals with plain warm water.
Use four liang of clean powder from rice crust (Guo Ba) made from winter rice, four liang of clean powder from Lotus Seed (Lian Rou, plumule removed), and four liang of maltose powder (Yi Tang).
Mix uniformly. Take 3–5 spoons each time, administered shortly after meals with plain warm water, three times a day. This prescription was passed down by Mr. Zou Taihu.

Malaria (Nue Zheng) in spring and summer is often caused by dietary irregularities and fatigue; in autumn and winter, it is caused by heatstroke injury. However, without phlegm, malaria cannot manifest. If it belongs to the Three Yang meridians, sweating or emesis is appropriate; if it belongs to the Three Yin meridians, purgation is appropriate (warm tonification or differentiated treatment is suitable).
