The *Jade Axis Classic* (*Yuzhou Jing*) recorded in the *Daoist Canon* states that the Qi of the Five Zang and Six Fu organs becomes disordered due to the steaming and scorching effects of the Five Flavors (sour, bitter, sweet, pungent, salty), and diseases arise from the long-term accumulation of the Six Desires and Seven Emotions. This internally injures the Zang-Fu organs and externally attacks the nine orifices, causing diseases throughout the skeletal system. Mild cases result in stubborn accumulations; severe cases lead to physical disability; even more severe cases result in death. Therefore, the Supreme One (Taishang) pities sentient beings and transmits the "Six-Syllable Breath Regulation" (Liuzi Qijue) to treat diseases of the Five Zang and Six Fu organs. The method involves exhaling to discharge toxic gases and waste from the Zang-Fu organs, and inhaling to absorb clear Qi from heaven and earth to replenish the body. Small results can be seen on the same day, significant results within ten days, and after one year, myriad diseases will not arise, extending life and longevity. This is a precious treasure for health preservation; it should not be transmitted to unworthy persons.

There are six exhalation syllables: He (呵), Hu (呼), Xi (呬), Xu (嘘), Si (嘻), and Chui (吹). There is only one method of inhalation. Why are there six exhalations? Because "He" treats Heart Qi, "Hu" treats Spleen Qi, "Xi" treats Lung Qi, "Xu" treats Liver Qi, "Si" treats Gallbladder Qi, and "Chui" treats Kidney Qi. These six syllables respectively govern the Five Zang and Six Fu organs.

Generally, the Qi of heaven and earth consists of six Yang hours from Zi hour to Si hour, and six Yin hours from Wu hour to Hai hour. If practicing during Yang hours, face east, do not close windows completely, but avoid wind invasion. Loosen clothing, sit upright, click teeth thirty-six times to stabilize the spirit. Agitate saliva in the mouth, rinse two or three hundred times until clear fluid forms, then lower the head and swallow to the left, using intention to guide it down the throat into the abdomen. Then lower the head, open the mouth, and first recite "He" to expel toxic gas from the heart. During recitation, one must not hear the sound of "He"; if heard, breathing becomes coarse and damages Heart Qi.

After reciting, lower the head and close the mouth, slowly inhaling clear Qi from heaven and earth through the nose to supplement Heart Qi. During inhalation, one must not hear the sound of inhalation; if heard, coarse breathing also damages Heart Qi. The principle is: exhalation should be short, inhalation long; exhale less, inhale more. After inhalation, lower the head again to recite "He," ensuring no sound is heard. After "He," raise the head and slowly inhale clear Qi through the nose to supplement the heart, again without hearing the inhalation sound. Repeat this inhalation six times. The toxic gas in the heart will gradually dissipate, and clear Qi from heaven and earth will replenish it, gradually restoring Yuan Qi (Original Qi) of the heart.

Next, follow the same method to recite "Hu." Do not hear the sound of "Hu," then inhale to supplement Spleen Qi, without hearing the inhalation sound. Repeat inhalation six times to dissipate Spleen toxicity and supplement Spleen Yuan Qi. Then recite "Xi" to drain Lung toxicity and inhale to supplement Lung Qi, also six times. Next, recite "Xu" to drain Liver toxicity and inhale to supplement Liver Qi; recite "Si" to drain Gallbladder toxicity and inhale to supplement Gallbladder Qi; recite "Chui" to drain Kidney toxicity and inhale to supplement Kidney Qi. Each syllable performed six times constitutes the "Small Cycle" (Xiao Zhou). The "Small Cycle" refers to 6x6=36 times. Thirty-six times constitute one cycle of the Microcosmic Orbit (Zhou Tian). After one cycle, the six Qi circulate, toxic gases in the Zang-Fu organs gradually消 (eliminate), disease roots are removed, and Ancestral Qi (Zu Qi) is gradually perfected.

Next, observe which Zang-Fu organ is diseased. For example, for eye diseases, recite "Xu" and "Si," eighteen times each, supplementing with inhalation each time, totaling thirty-six recitations. This is called the "Medium Cycle" (Zhong Zhou). The "Medium Cycle" adds another thirty-six repetitions to the previous total, amounting to seventy-two. Then, repeat the previous six-syllable method (He, Hu, Xi, Xu, Si, Chui), six times each, ensuring exhalation drains pathology and inhalation supplements Zheng Qi (Upright Qi), with precision and without neglect. This third set of thirty-six constitutes the "Large Cycle" (Da Zhou). In total, this is one hundred and eight recitations, known as the "Hundred-Eight Mantra" (Bai Ba Jue).

If practicing at Wu hour (Yin time) for illness, face south because south belongs to Fire, thus dispelling Yin toxicity. However, this is inferior to facing east during the Yang hours (after Zi hour before Si hour). Practicing in the morning facing east, performing six times for each syllable, also constitutes the "Small Cycle" and can treat eye diseases. All eye conditions can be cured by this method; the same applies to other diseases. Miraculous! This is the compassionate decree of the Supreme One. I have briefly seen the *Jade Axis True Classic*, but detailed instruction was received from my master. For severe illnesses, perform each syllable fifty times, totaling three hundred, completing the cycle for the Six Fu organs. After rinsing, swallowing saliva, and clicking teeth, repeat three hundred times. After finishing, rinse, swallow, and click teeth as initially. Repeat this process three times, totaling nine hundred recitations, curing all diseases. Keep it secret, keep it secret; do not transmit to unworthy persons.

Sun Taizhen (Sun Simiao) said: "When the weather is overcast, foggy, windy, and cold, do not practice Qi absorption; simply close your mouth and remain still."
