Jue Tou Tong (Jue-type Headhood). The head feels persistently heavy and painful. Discharge the five rows of points on the head (referring to the Du vessel and the two Bladder channels on either side), taking five points per row. Headache caused by being struck or fallen, resulting in evil blood retained inside, or muscle injury where pain persists: local acupuncture may be applied; distal point selection is not appropriate.
Headache that cannot be needled refers to severe Bi syndrome (obstruction). If it occurs daily, symptoms may slightly improve, but it cannot be cured.
Cold pain on one side of the head: first select points from the Hand-Shaoyang and Hand-Yangming meridians, then from the Foot-Shaoyang and Foot-Yangming meridians.
Jue Xin Tong (Jue-type Heart Pain). Pain radiates to the back. There is frequent twitching/spasm. It feels as if someone is touching the heart from behind, causing the patient to stoop. This is Kidney Jue Xin Tong. First select Jinggu (BL64) and Kunlun (BL60). After removing the needles, if there is no improvement, select Ran Gu (KI2).

Intestinal parasites (Chong Jia) and Jiao Wu (a type of parasitic worm) cannot be treated with small needles. Heart and abdominal pain, feeling of stifling discomfort and pain. Swelling and masses move up and down. Pain has intervals. Abdominal heat, thirst, and salivation indicate Jiao Wu disease. Press firmly with the hand to fix the mass in place. Use a large needle. Retain the needle for a long time until the parasite stops moving, then remove it.
Abdominal pain where the swelling is located in the upper part of the abdomen: [Commentary: When the whole abdomen hurts, one must directly needle the area of the moving mass].
Deafness and inability to hear: select Er Zhong (TE21). Tinnitus: select the arterial pulse in front of the ear. Ear pain that cannot be needled indicates pus in the ear or dry cerumen (earwax), resulting in hearing loss. Deafness: select the corner of the nail at the junction of flesh on the fourth finger of the hand (Guanchong, TE1). First select hand points, then foot points. Tinnitus: select the corner of the nail on the middle finger (Zhongchong, PC9). Treat left with right, right with left. First select hand points, then foot points.

This text focuses mainly on headache and heart pain, with ear pain and other conditions appended. Its momentum is less than the previous chapter, yet it possesses the force of wind-driven sails and charging horses. Narrative prose demonstrating such momentum is difficult even for Sima Qian or Ban Gu.
