When Zang-Fu organs have diseases, acupuncture is suitable; the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) and Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) points should be viewed following their interior-exterior relationships. The Lung's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Taiyuan (Tai Yuan) pairs with the Large Intestine's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Pianli (Pian Li); the Large Intestine's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Hegu (He Gu) pairs with the Lung's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Lieque (Lie Que); the Spleen's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Taibai (Tai Bai) pairs with the Stomach's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Fenglong (Feng Long); the Stomach's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Chongyang (Chong Yang) pairs with the Spleen's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Gongsun (Gong Sun); the Heart's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Shenmen (Shen Men) pairs with the Small Intestine's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Zhizheng (Zhi Zheng); the Small Intestine's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Wanggu (Wang Gu) pairs with the Heart's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Tongli (Tong Li); the Kidney's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Taixi (Tai Xi) pairs with the Bladder's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Feiyang (Fei Yang); the Bladder's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Jinggu (Jing Gu) pairs with the Kidney's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Dazhong (Da Zhong); the Sanjiao's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Yangchi (Yang Chi) pairs with the Pericardium's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Neiguan (Nei Guan); the Pericardium's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Daling (Da Ling) pairs with the Sanjiao's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Waiguan (Wai Guan); the Gallbladder's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Qiuxu (Qiu Xu) pairs with the Liver's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Ligou (Li Gou); the Liver's Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point Taichong (Tai Chong) pairs with the Gallbladder's Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point Guangming (Guang Ming).
[Note] Whenever there is disease in the Zang-Fu organs, acupuncture can be applied, as stated in the *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues): "For diseases of the five Zang and six Fu organs, one should select their Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) points." This is because each meridian has specific diseases it governs, and treatment must follow the interior-exterior relationship of the meridians, first treating the principal meridian and then the guest meridian simultaneously. The principal refers to the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point, and the guest refers to the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point. For example, if the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point within this interior meridian, namely Taiyuan (Tai Yuan), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Large Intestine, namely Pianli (Pian Li); if the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point on this exterior meridian, namely Hegu (He Gu), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point within the interior meridian of the Lung, namely Lieque (Lie Que); if the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point within this interior meridian, namely Taibai (Tai Bai), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Stomach, namely Fenglong (Feng Long); if the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point on this exterior meridian, namely Chongyang (Chong Yang), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point within the interior meridian of the Spleen, namely Gongsun (Gong Sun); if the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point within this interior meridian, namely Shenmen (Shen Men), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Small Intestine, namely Zhizheng (Zhi Zheng); if the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point on this exterior meridian, namely Wanggu (Wang Gu), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point within the interior meridian of the Heart, namely Tongli (Tong Li); if the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point within this interior meridian, namely Taixi (Tai Xi), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Bladder, namely Feiyang (Fei Yang); if the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point on this exterior meridian, namely Jinggu (Jing Gu), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point within the interior meridian of the Kidney, namely Dazhong (Da Zhong); if the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point on this exterior meridian, namely Yangchi (Yang Chi), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Pericardium, namely Neiguan (Nei Guan); if the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point within this interior meridian, namely Daling (Da Ling), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Sanjiao, namely Waiguan (Wai Guan); if the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point on this exterior meridian, namely Qiuxu (Qiu Xu), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point within the interior meridian of the Liver, namely Ligou (Li Gou); if the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian has disease, one may needle the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) point within this interior meridian, namely Taichong (Tai Chong), and additionally needle the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) point on the exterior meridian of the Gallbladder, namely Guangming (Guang Ming). This is the acupuncture method of following interior-exterior relationships where the Yuan-Source (Yuan Source) points for the principal diseases of the twelve meridians serve as the master, and the Luo-Connecting (Luo Connecting) points serve as the guest.
