分属手足三阴三阳,为十二经也。如肺手太阴,心手少阴,心包络手厥阴,手之三阴也;
手太阳小肠,手阳明大肠,手少阳三焦,手之三阳也;足太阳膀胱,足阳明胃,足少阳
胆,足之三阳也;足太阴脾,足少阴肾,足厥阴肝,足之三阴也。
Hemorrhoids, anal swelling, diarrhea and dysentery, strangling wind (a condition characterized by severe throat swelling and difficulty breathing), hematemesis (vomiting blood), hematuria (blood in urine), cough with sputum, toothache, sore throat, dysuria (difficult or painful urination), pain in the chest, heart, and abdomen, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), postpartum rigidity of the body with inability to speak, lower back pain, blood disorders, coldness in the umbilical and abdominal regions, retained dead fetus ascending to attack the diaphragm. One needle insertion at Lieque (LU7) cures the disease.
[Note] Internal hemorrhoids, anal swelling, diarrhea and dysentery with red and white pus/blood, coughing up sputum with blood, hematuria, and swelling and pain of the gums and throat, dark and scanty difficult urination, pain in the chest, heart, and abdomen, dysphagia causing discomfort in swallowing, postpartum retained blood attacking the Heart Qi, resulting in bodily rigidity and inability to speak; or lower back pain due to blood stasis, coldness in the umbilical and abdominal area, fetal death in utero, retention of the placenta, upward rebellion causing diaphragmatic obstruction. All these conditions can be treated by needling Lieque (LU7), and the symptoms will surely resolve.

Throat closure (throat lock), strangury with dysuria, and chest swelling; bladder Qi pain accompanied by borborygmus (intestinal rumbling); umbilical and abdominal pain caused by food stagnation and wine accumulation; vomiting, diarrhea, stomach reversal (gastric reflux), and mastitis; dry stool, dystocia (difficult labor), syncope due to blood loss, accumulations and masses, intestinal wind with rectal bleeding, discomfort in the epigastrium/chest like plum-pit qi (globus hystericus). For such obstruction syndromes, needling Zhaohai (KI6) is effective.
[Note] Excess fire in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner) causing throat closure and blockage; heat binding in the Lower Jiao (Lower Burner) causing bladder Qi pain, strangury with dysuria, and swelling and pain in the chest; or food and wine stagnation internally damaging the Spleen, leading to jaundice; or umbilical and abdominal pain; or vomiting and diarrhea with gastric reversal throwing up food, mastitis, dry feces, difficult childbirth in women, pain from blood stasis masses, syncope, persistent rectal bleeding due to intestinal wind; or Qi stagnation in the diaphragm causing depression and discomfort, resembling plum-pit qi obstructing the throat, unable to be coughed out or swallowed. Urgently needling Zhaohai (KI6) will cause all these symptoms to dissipate naturally.

The Five Zang organs, Six Fu organs, plus the Pericardium are distributed among the Hand and Foot channels as Three Yin and Three Yang. The Taiyin channel: Foot belongs to the Spleen, Hand belongs to the Lung. The Yangming channel: Foot belongs to the Stomach, Hand belongs to the Large Intestine. The Shaoyin channel: Foot belongs to the Kidney, Hand belongs to the Heart. The Taiyang channel: Foot belongs to the Bladder, Hand belongs to the Small Intestine. The Jueyin channel: Foot belongs to the Liver, Hand belongs to the Pericardium. The Shaoyang channel: Foot belongs to the Gallbladder, Hand belongs to the Sanjiao (Triple Burner).
[Note] The Five Zang organs: Heart, Liver, Spleen, Lung, Kidney. The Six Fu organs: Gallbladder, Stomach, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Bladder, Sanjiao (Triple Burner). Together with the Pericardium, they are distributed into the Hand and Foot Three Yin and Three Yang channels, forming the Twelve Primary Meridians. For example: Hand Taiyin Lung Channel, Hand Shaoyin Heart Channel, Hand Jueyin Pericardium Channel constitute the Three Yin Channels of the Hand; Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Channel, Hand Yangming Large Intestine Channel, Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Channel constitute the Three Yang Channels of the Hand; Foot Taiyang Bladder Channel, Foot Yangming Stomach Channel, Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel constitute the Three Yang Channels of the Foot; Foot Taiyin Spleen Channel, Foot Shaoyin Kidney Channel, Foot Jueyin Liver Channel constitute the Three Yin Channels of the Foot.
