The vessel of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine originates at the tip of the little finger, follows the ulnar side (lateral side) of the hand, ascends to the wrist, emerges from the styloid process of the ulna (Huankou), goes straight up along the lower margin of the forearm bone, emerges between the two bones on the medial side of the elbow, ascends along the posterior-lower margin of the upper arm, emerges from the shoulder joint, winds around the scapula, intersects at the shoulder, enters the Clavicular Fossa (Quepen), connects with the Heart, follows the pharynx, passes through the diaphragm, reaches the Stomach, and belongs to the Small Intestine. Its branch arises from the Clavicular Fossa, follows the neck upwards to the cheek, arrives at the outer canthus of the eye, turns back and enters the ear. Another branch diverges from the cheek, ascends to the side of the nose, reaches the inner canthus of the eye, and obliquely connects with the zygomatic region.
The vessel of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine begins at Shaose (SI1, Little Sea) at the tip of the little finger, follows the ulnar side of the hand emerging from the wrist, follows the forearm bone emerging from the medial side of the elbow, ascends along the posterior-lower margin of the upper arm, directly passes through the shoulder joint, winds around the scapula, intersects at the shoulder, descends into the Clavicular Fossa, extends towards the axilla to connect with the Heart, follows the pharynx downwards, passes through the diaphragm, reaches the Stomach, and belongs to the Small Intestine. One branch penetrates the neck and cheek from the Clavicular Fossa, arrives at the outer canthus, turns back to enter the ear, then again ascends from the front of the ear to the cheek, reaches the nose, ascends to the inner canthus, and obliquely connects with the zygomatic region via a collateral branch.
[Note] The vessel of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine originates from Shaochong (HT9, Lesser Spring) of the Hand-Shaoyin Pericardium vessel on the medial side of the little finger, following to Shaose (SI1, Little Sea) at the tip of the little finger, following the ulnar side of the hand passing through Qian Gu (SI3, Foreground) and Hou Xi (SI3, Rear Stream) acupoints, ascending from Hou Xi to the wrist reaching Wangu (SI4, Wrist Bone), emerging from Wangu from the styloid process of the ulna (Huankou), entering Yanggu (SI5, Yang Valley) and Yanglao (SI6, Nourishing Old Age). From Yanglao going straight up, following the lower margin of the forearm bone, passing Zhi Zheng (SI7, Branching Correctness). Emerging from Zhi Zheng between the two tendons on the medial side of the elbow is Xiaohai (SI8, Small Sea). Ascending from Xiaohai along the posterior-lower margin of the upper arm, emerging from the shoulder joint Jianzhen (SI9, Shoulder Stability), winding around the scapula Bingfeng (SI12, Wind Control) to ascend Tianzong (SI11, Heavenly Cluster). From Tianzong following Bingfeng, Qu Yuan (SI13, Curve Wall) and other acupoints, entering Quepen (LI15, Clavicular Fossa) from Jianzhongshu (BL10, Middle of Shoulder Shu), scattering and moving internally, connecting with the Heart, following the pharynx downwards passing through the diaphragm, reaching the Stomach, belonging to the distribution area of the Small Intestine. Its branch, from the Clavicular Fossa following the neck entering Tianchuang (SI16, Heavenly Window), Tianrong (SI17, Heavenly Adornment), ascending to the cheek Quan (EX-HN19, Zygomaticus), arriving at the outer canthus, turning back to enter the ear gathering at Tinggong (SI19, Hearing Palace). Its divergent branch ascends from the cheek to the side of the nose, reaches the inner canthus, to intersect with the Foot-Taiyang Bladder vessel.
