Tonifies the five zang organs, benefits the liver and kidneys, harmonizes the stomach and intestines, strengthens sinews and bones, treats edema (shuiqi), tonifies the middle jiao and calms the fetus. Frequent consumption is beneficial to humans and rarely induces disease; this is likely why Zhang Han missed it. Making perch sashimi (Lu) is particularly good. Additionally, when dried, it becomes very fragrant and delicious, but should not be consumed together with dairy products or butter.
