Treating throat sores, as well as various symptoms such as mouth and tongue ulcers, and swelling and pain in the throat.
Zhen Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Puhuang (Caulis Polygoni Cuspidati Pollen) (stir-fried), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis) (stir-fried), Renzhongbai (Calcinatus Calculus Bovis or similar calcined substance) (each 1 liang), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) (3 fen), Pengsha (Borax) (5 qian).
Grind all into a fine powder. Blowing it into the throat is extremely effective.
Treating nocturnal emission and seminal leakage in men. Nocturnal emission occurring during dreams is caused by excessive Ministerial Fire (Xianghuo). Emission without dreaming is caused by deficiency of the Heart and Kidney. These should be distinguished.
Where there is Ministerial Fire, damp-heat must arise, causing the Kidney Water to become turbid; if turbid, it cannot be secured. Therefore, this formula prioritizes regulating the Spleen and guiding out dampness. Once dampness is removed and water becomes clear, the essence will naturally cease to leak. The treatment for turbid urine follows the same principle.
Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae), Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae Oppositae), Fuling (Poria), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood) (each 2 liang), Qianshi (Fructus Nelumbinis Nuciferae) (4 liang), Lianhua Xu (Stamen Nelumbinis Nuciferae), Muli (Concha Ostreae) (each 1.5 liang), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis) (5 qian), Cheqianzi (Semen Plantaginis) (3 liang).
Grind into powder, use Jinying Gao (Extract of Rosa laevigata) to form pills. Size like wu-tong seeds. Take 70-80 pills each time, washed down with boiled water.
For those with Qi deficiency, add Renshen (Radix Ginseng) 1 liang.
When Qi is robust, it can secure the essence. Currently, many people suffer from lower body deficiency; taking this formula has repeatedly proven effective.
Huangqi (Radix Astragali Membranacei), Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae) (each 2 liang), Fuling (Poria), Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae Oppositae) (each 1.5 liang), Renshen (Radix Ginseng) (1 liang), Dushudi (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) (3 liang), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) (each 1 liang), Shanzhuyu (Fructus Corni Officinalis), Duzhong (Cortex Eucommiae Ulmoidis), Xuduan (Radix Dipsaci) (each 2 liang), Zaoren (Semen Ziziphi Spinosae) (2 liang), Yuanzhi (Radix Polygalae Tenuifoliae), Bei Wuwei Zi (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis), Longgu (Os Mastodi seu Ossis Femoris), Muli (Concha Ostreae) (each 7.5 qian).

Treating irregular menstruation in women, and also treating amenorrhea in unmarried girls leading to consumptive disease. Note: Irregular menstruation in women is due to disharmony of Qi and Blood, and the pathology is relatively superficial. Amenorrhea in unmarried girls implies the exhaustion of the source, and the pathology is extremely deep. What is referred to as "Tian Gui" (Heavenly Water, i.e., reproductive essence/substance) originates from Zi (Kidney/Water), being the root generated by Heavenly One. What is referred to as menstrual blood is the regular flow; deviation from normality leads to disaster and disease. Unmarried girls are individuals with complete and sufficient Qi and Blood; they should especially not experience amenorrhea. If amenorrhea occurs, hair at the temples may turn brittle and dry, cough and fever may appear, and various diseases may arise simultaneously, making the situation difficult to manage.
