Swallow the powder of Fangcunbi (One-Cun-Bi, a small measuring spoon for powder) mixed with water. Another prescription for treating Changfeng (Intestinal Wind) bleeding: stir-fry Red Bean (Vigna angularis) until blackened, grind into powder, take 2 qian each time, mixed with rice drink.
Those whose diet and drinking are irregular, and whose daily routine is untimely, suffer from Yin pathogen invasion; when Yin is invaded, the pathogen enters the Five Zang organs; entering the Five Zang organs causes abdominal fullness and obstruction, manifesting downward as Sundxie (undigested food diarrhea); prolonged illness leads to Changzhi (intestinal hemorrhoids/polyps).
(Full text see "Five Zang" chapter.)
[Suwen] If one eats to satiety, causing tendons and vessels to relax and loosen, the intestines develop into hemorrhoids. (From *Shengqi Tongtian Lun*)
The aforementioned Changzhi bleeding due to irregular diet, such as Luo Qianfu's treatment of the son of Prefect Shi of Zhending who drank sour wine and bled, Haizang's treatment of Teacher Yang who drank iced tea and bled, and the treatment of Tang Sheng who drank milk whey and bled, are all examples of this. See also the "Cold-Dampness" section.

[Worldly Physicians] For Changfeng (Intestinal Wind) bleeding: Crush Ma Bian Cao (Verbena officinalis) leaves, twist out the juice, and take orally.
[Danxi] For Zangdu (Visceral Toxin) bleeding: Take a handful of Cheqian Cao (Plantago asiatica) including roots, and a small piece of fresh ginger, crush with new well-water, strain off dregs. When feeling that blood is about to descend, the waist will feel heavy; at this moment, take one cup of this medicine. Sit for a short while, gradually feeling a cold sensation descending in the abdomen, then go to the toilet; the bleeding will stop immediately. Severe cases may require only one more dose.

A good physician used Shanli Zao (Mountain Date), commonly known as Biti Tuan (Snot Ball), also called Suan Zao (Sour Date), which best treats lower body bleeding diseases. Try taking dried ones ground into powder; relief follows administration. If the medicine matches the syndrome, its efficacy is thus; how can it be ignored because it is cheap? (Yanyi says: Sour date is slightly warm.)
Above are sour and warm agents.
[Bencao] Men suffering from blood injury, women with Bengzhou (flooding menstruation) infiltrating into the large intestine causing bleeding.

Moxibustion and acupuncture for Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) bleeding have two methods:
First, select Liver meridian points. The classic says: For acute lower body bleeding, select Ququan (LR8).
Second, select Kidney meridian points. The classic says: Diseases generated by the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian include Jaundice, Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids), and rectal bleeding. Apply tonification or sedation based on excess/deficiency, heat/cold, and sinking conditions, with rapid needle retention or moxibustion.
[Maijue] Guan pulse Kou (hollow) indicates massive rectal bleeding; this is due to injury to Ge Shu (BL17), suitable for moxibustion on Ge Shu (BL17). If there is tenesmus and excessive blood loss, puncture Guanyuan (CV4).
[Yuan] Treats Changfeng (Intestinal Wind) bleeding: Moxibustion on the point below the 20th thoracic vertebra, number of moxa cones determined by patient's age, applied to Sanbao acupoints for immediate cure.

[Hai] Blood syndromes and Yellow syndromes both present with head sweating, aversion to wind, desire for alcohol, and brown or black stools; treat them similarly as blood syndromes.
[Suwen] Kidney pulse small, bounding, and deep indicates Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) with bleeding. If blood is warm and body feverish, death ensues. (From *Da Qi Lun*)
Excessive lust depletes essence, body feverish with sallow complexion, and post-alcohol bleeding with thick, heavy blood are adverse signs. (Full text see "Diagnosing Life and Death" chapter.)
[Suwen] Heart and Liver Qi stagnation also cause bleeding; simultaneous disease of these two Zang organs is treatable. If pulse is small, deep, and choppy, it is Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids); if body is feverish, death ensues; fever lasting seven days leads to death. (From *Da Qi Lun*) Emperor asked: How is Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) with rectal bleeding? Qibo answered: Body feverish means death, body cold means survival. Emperor asked: How is Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) with pus and blood? Qibo answered: Pulse hanging and severed means death, slippery and large means survival. Emperor asked: Regarding Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) type diseases, body not feverish, pulse not hanging/severed, how is it? Qibo answered: Slippery and large indicates survival, hanging and choppy indicates death, predict death by Zang organ timing. (All from *Tong Ping Xu Shi Lun*) Spleen pulse external bulging and deep indicates Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids), self-heals after long time. Liver pulse small and slow indicates Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids), easy to treat. (All from *Da Qi Lun*)
Abdominal distension with rectal bleeding, pulse large but intermittently absent, is an adverse sign. Such persons die within less than one shichen. (Full text see "Diagnosing Life and Death". Absence means interruption without continuation.)
[Maijue] Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) with pus and blood, pulse deep, small, and lingering indicates survival; pulse rapid, large, with heat indicates death. Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) with tendon spasm, pulse small, fine, and quiet indicates survival; pulse floating, large, and tight indicates death.
[Suwen] Yin and Yang deficiency, Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) leads to death. (From *Yin Yang Bie Lun*) Stomach transferring heat to Spleen transmits as deficiency, Changzhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoids), death is incurable. (Full text see "Diagnosing Disease Transmission".)
