(When sores have flesh protruding from them, this is called Fan Hua Chuang [Anti-flower sore].)
[Dan] For various sores with proliferating flesh, resembling a snake's head extending several inches, apply sulfur powder externally; the flesh will immediately retract. (*Taiping Shenghui Fang*)
For sores with protruding flesh, burn Chinese plum (Wumei) to ash, grind into powder, and apply externally for immediate resolution. (*Guiyi Fang*) Alternatively, mash white plum flesh into a fine paste, mix with honey, form into cakes the size of a coin, and apply to the affected area for wonderful results. (*Taiping Shenghui Fang*)
[Mei] Another prescription for treating Fan Hua Chuang: Take one jin of purslane (Machixian), burn it to ash, grind finely, and mix with lard for external application.
[Shi] For sores protruding about one inch, with roots like small beans or as large as plums, wrap the root with silk threads from a spotted-legged spider; the tissue will gradually dry up and fall off spontaneously.
[Luo] Ruxiang Xiaodu San (Frankincense Detoxification Powder) is specifically indicated for malignant sores.
Rhubarb Rhizome (stir-baked) Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin) Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi, stir-fried) Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua) (each 5 liang) Licorice Root (Gancao) (3 liang) Oyster Shell (Muli, baked in salt mud until calcined, 5 liang)
Frankincense (Ruxiang) Myrrh (Moyao) Trichosanthes Fruit (Gualou) (each half liang)
Grind the above ingredients into coarse powder. Each dose is five qian, decocted in water. If the sore is located on the upper body, take after meals; if on the lower body, take before meals.
[Hai] When malignant sores invade the abdomen and heart region, causing vomiting and regurgitation such that medicine and food cannot be swallowed:
Mung Bean Starch (Doufen) (half liang) Dried Carmine (Gan Yanzhi) (3 qian) Lead Carbonate (Dingfen) (2 qian)
Grind the above into fine powder, mix with fresh well-water, and ingest orally; miraculous effect.

Copper Verdigris (Tonglv) Realgar (Pishuang) (each 2 qian) Toad Venom (Chansu) (1 qian)
Grind the above into fine powder, mix with cooked rice flour to form pill-like cones the size of wheat grains. For sores that do not feel pain upon pricking, one must first prick to bleed, then insert the medicinal cone into the wound, and cover with a plaster.
Prescriptions for cauterizing malignant sores should only be used for extraordinary and severe malignant sores.
Copper Verdigris (Tonglv) (2 qian) Realgar (Pishuang) (one zi measure) Alum Stone (Shidanfan) (half qian, all finely ground)
