Heaven possesses the Five Phases (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) that govern the five directions, thereby generating Cold, Heat, Dryness, Dampness, and Wind. The human body possesses the Zang Organs (Heart, Liver, Spleen, Lung, Kidney) that transform the Five Qi, thereby generating Joy, Anger, Worry, Thought, and Fear. Thus, the Qi of the Five Movements internally corresponds to the human Zang Organs. All wind-related tremors and dizziness belong to the Liver; all cold-related contraction and pulling belong to the Kidney; all dampness-related edema and fullness belong to the Spleen; all qi-related stagnation belongs to the Lung; all pain, itching, and sores belong to the Heart. This is the case. All jue (cold extremities/reversal) and retention or incontinence belong to the Lower Jiao (Lower Burner), referring to diseases of the Kidney and Liver in the Lower Jiao. All wei (flaccidity syndromes), panting, and fullness belong to the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), referring to diseases of the Heart and Lung in the Upper Jiao. These are all diseases of the Zang Organs, where the pathogenesis arises from internal movement. Heaven's Three Yin and Three Yang generate the Six Qi (Wind, Cold, Summer-Heat, Dampness, Dryness, Fire), thereby producing Cold, Summer-Heat, Dryness, Dampness, Wind, and Fire, which internally correspond to the human Fu Organs (Hollow Organs) and externally influence the Twelve Meridians. All heat-related mao (dizziness/mental confusion) belong to Fire, corresponding to the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao (Triple Energizer) Meridian; all jin (stiff mouth/jaw clenching), drumming shivers, and loss of spiritual control belong to Fire, corresponding to the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian; all counterflow rushing upward belong to Fire, corresponding to the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian; all spasm and neck stiffness belong to Dampness, corresponding to the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian; all abdominal distension and enlargement belong to Heat, corresponding to the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian; all restlessness, mania, and unruliness belong to Fire, corresponding to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian; all sudden rigidity belong to Wind, corresponding to the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian; all diseases with sounds, where percussion yields a drum-like sound, belong to Heat, corresponding to the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian; all swelling, painful soreness, fright, and alarm belong to Fire, corresponding to the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian; all twisting, reverse flexion, and turbid fluids belong to Heat, corresponding to the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian; all clear and cold fluids belong to Cold, corresponding to the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian; all vomiting of sour fluid, sudden diarrhea with tenesmus, belong to Heat, corresponding to the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian. These are all pathogens affecting the Twelve Meridians, where the pathogenesis arises from external invasion. Liu Hejian wrote books based on this but indiscriminately failed to distinguish their respective meridians, lacking deep investigation. Why? Lou Ying only corrected the bias in treatment methods but did not address this issue, so I hereby correct it accordingly.
