[General Verse] The Spleen governs the four limbs, and the Gallbladder controls the pivot; when Qi mechanism is smooth, the body feels light and comfortable. If movement is difficult and strength is lacking, treatment should follow the correct method to avoid deviation.
Difficulty in turning and side-lying, as well as inability to flex and extend, indicates reversal of the Shaoyang (Lesser Yang) pivot. Danggui Chaihu Tang (Angelica Sinensis and Bupleurum Decoction) is suitable.
Danggui (3 qian), Baishao (2 qian), Chaihu (1 qian), Qinjiao (2 qian), Zhuru (2 qian), Gancao (1 qian), Danshen (3 qian), Yuzhu (2 qian), Jiangcan (3 qian), Yinhua (2 qian), Huangqin (3 qian), Faxia (2 qian).
The verse states: Reversal of the Shaoyang pivot makes turning difficult; Danggui, Baishao, Chaihu, Huangqin, Qinjiao, and Faxia are gathered together.
Jiangcan combined with Danshen, Yinhua, and Gancao, along with Zhuru and Yuzhu, make up the decoction for consumption.
Heaviness of the body and sluggish movement of the four limbs indicate dampness in the Spleen meridian. Hepar Lishi Tang (Spleen-Harmonizing and Dampness-Draining Decoction) is suitable.
Baizhu (3 qian), Fangji (2 qian), Mutong (2 qian), Yunling (3 qian), Cangzhu (2 qian), Zexie (2 qian), Danzhuye (2 qian).
The verse states: Body heaviness is invaded by dampness in the Spleen meridian; Mutong, Fangji, the two Zhu herbs, and Fuling are measured carefully.
Adding Danzhuye to harmonize and combining with Zexie, the principle of supporting the Spleen and removing dampness can be sought.
[General Verse] There is no emergency more critical than sudden collapse; a sudden fall and fainting startles the whole family.
There is no need to ask where the disease originated; distinguishing between Closed syndrome (Bi Zheng) and Collapsed syndrome (Tuo Zheng) for treatment will immediately restore life.
Sudden collapse to the ground, with symptoms of open hands and closed eyes, indicates Stroke-Collapsed Syndrome (Zhongfeng Xu Tuo Zheng). Jijiu Sansheng Yin (Emergency Rescue Three-Life Drink) is suitable.
Fuzi (2 qian), Chuanwu (2 qian), Nanxing (3 qian), Renshen (3 qian).
The verse states: Falling suddenly to the ground with eyes unable to open; open hands indicate Yang deficiency and dark injury by wind.
Fuzi and Chuanwu serve as the main herbs, added with Nanxing and Dangshen for consumption.
Sudden collapse to the ground, with symptoms of clenched hands and locked jaw, indicates Stroke-Closed Syndrome (Zhongfeng Shi Bi Zheng). Chuibi Tongguan San (Nose-Blowing Passage-Unblocking Powder) is suitable.
Shengbanxia (3 qian), Shexiang (1 fen), Yazao mo (2 qian), Baifan (2 qian), Xixin (2 qian).
Grind into powder and blow into the nose.
The verse states: Sudden stroke collapse with hands difficult to open; for Closed syndrome, Tongguan powder containing Banxia is required.
Yazao, Xixin, Baifan mixed with Shexiang powder, grind and blow into the nose without hesitation.
