Yang Qi fails to nourish the extremities, resulting in **Wuchi** (Five Delays/Developmental Delays), characterized by the head tilting backward to facilitate breathing, difficulty in moving the body, stiffness and coldness of the hands and feet like ice, and qi stagnation in the chest and diaphragm causing radiating pain.
Xiaoxuming Decoction is the most effective; Wuyao Shunqi Powder yields excellent results. If Liver Wood overacts on Spleen Meridian, Jiawei Liujunzi Decoction is profoundly beneficial.
[Note]
"Wuchi" refers to the condition where the head tilts backward for breath, the body is difficult to move, qi stagnates causing pain extending to the chest and diaphragm, and the palms and soles are cold and cyanotic.
These symptoms all stem from Yang Qi failing to nourish the four extremities, making it a particularly difficult-to-treat condition.
For severe cases, Xiaoxuming Decoction is used to disperse Wind; for mild cases, Wuyao Shunqi Powder is used to regulate Qi.
If Liver Wood invades the Spleen, manifesting as poor appetite and Qi deficiency, Jiawei Liujunzi Decoction should be administered. Treating both internally and externally will lead to gradual recovery.

Children with congenital Qi and Blood deficiency exhibit weak muscles and bones, difficulty walking, delayed tooth eruption, sparse and thin hair, inability to sit steadily, and delayed speech.
Treatment primarily uses Jiawei Dihuang Wan, followed by Buzhong Yiqi Tang. For pathogenic factors invading Heart Qi, Shi Changpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma) is effective; for hair growth delay due to Blood deficiency, Qusheng Dan is more suitable.
[Note]
The syndrome of Wuchi in children is mostly caused by the parents' deficiency of Qi and Blood and congenital insufficiency, resulting in the child being born with weak muscles and bones,
difficulty walking, delayed tooth eruption, and inability to sit steadily. All these are due to insufficient Kidney Qi.
First, use Jiawei Dihuang Wan to nourish the Blood, then use Buzhong Yiqi Tang to tonify the Qi.
The Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian is the meridian of the Kidney, and its flourishing aspect manifests in the hair.
If the Qi and Blood of the Shaoyin are insufficient, they cannot ascend to nourish the hair; Qusheng Dan is indicated.
Additionally, if fright pathogens invade the Heart Qi, leading to an inability to speak at four or five years of age, Changpu Wan is indicated.
