Kui Bei (Turtle Back) is caused by infants sitting too early and being exposed to wind pathogens. It presents with a stooped posture and a high, convex back resembling a turtle. Internally, Song Rui Dan (Pine Stamen Pill) should be taken for gradual treatment; externally, moxibustion should be applied, and turtle urine should be dabbed on the affected areas.
[Annotation]
Kui Bei (Turtle Back) occurs when external wind pathogens invade the spine and surrounding tissues due to infants sitting prematurely. This leads to spinal curvature and a humpbacked appearance resembling a turtle. It often becomes a chronic, lifelong condition.
Internal treatment involves regulating with Song Rui Dan (Pine Stamen Pill). Externally, apply the acupuncture points from the *Sheng Hui Fang* (Holy Grace Formulas): moxa moxibustion on Fei Shu (BL13, Lung Shu), Xin Shu (BL15, Heart Shu), and Ge Shu (BL17, Diaphragm Shu), three to five moxa cones per point.
Alternatively, dabbing bone joints with turtle urine can also yield effective results.

Wu Ruan (Five Softnesses) is a syndrome caused by congenital insufficiency, characterized by softness of the head/neck, hands, feet, mouth, and muscles. Treatment utilizes Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill) and Fuyuan San (Support Origin Powder); success depends entirely on appropriate postnatal care and nourishment.
[Annotation]
Wu Ruan (Five Softnesses) refers to softness of the head and neck, hands, feet, mouth, and muscles.
Head softness implies weakness in the neck;
Hand and foot softness imply weakness in the four limbs;
Muscle softness implies loose skin and lack of muscle mass;
Mouth softness implies thin lips and lack of strength.
These five conditions all result from insufficient congenital endowment and deficient Qi and Blood, leading to weak bones and meridians, and flaccid sinews and muscles.
Treatment should prioritize tonifying Qi.
First, use Bushen Dihuang Wan (Kidney-Tonifying Rehmannia Pill) to replenish congenital Essence and Qi; subsequently, use Fuyuan San (Support Origin Powder) to strengthen postnatal debility.
Through gradual regulation, the Five Softnesses will naturally become robust.
(Bushen Dihuang Wan / Kidney-Tonifying Rehmannia Pill Formula)
