骨度乃『灵枢经·骨度篇』文所论之长短,皆数也。
然骨之大者太过,小不及,此亦但言其则耳。
至于周身手足折量之法,

From the shoulder to the elbow, the length is 1 chi 7 cun. From the elbow to the wrist, the length is 1 chi 2.5 cun. (The middle joint of the arm is called the elbow.)
From the wrist to the proximal interphalangeal joint (Benjie) of the middle finger, the length is 4 cun. (The junction of the arm and palm is called the wrist.)
From the proximal interphalangeal joint (Benjie) to the tip of the finger, the length is 4.5 cun. (The distal segment of the finger is called Benjie.)
From below the knee to the lateral malleolus, the length is 1 chi 6 cun.
From below the popliteal fossa (Gu) to the foot dorsum connection (Fushu), the length is 1 chi 6 cun. (Gu refers to the back of the knee; Fushu refers to the dorsal surface of the foot. The knee is anterior, and Gu is posterior. Fushu refers to all areas where the tibia and sole intersect anteriorly and posteriorly around the two malleoli, which belong to the category of Fushu.)
From the foot dorsum connection (Fushu) down to the ground, the length is 3 cun.
From the lateral malleolus down to the ground, the length is 1 cun. The length of the foot is 1 chi 2 cun, and its width is 4.5 cun.
Note:
Bone measurements (Gudu) refer to the lengths discussed in the "Chapter on Bone Measurements" of the *Ling Shu Jing* (Spiritual Pivot), which are numerical standards.
However, individuals with larger bones may exceed these standards, while those with smaller bones may fall short; this text merely states the general rule.
Regarding the method for measuring the limbs by segments,
for the palm, it is correct to use the "body-inch" (Tongshen Cun) based on the index and middle fingers (see Figures 24 and 25).
