[Prescription Verse] For crush injuries (Jia Shang), medicinal plasters are prohibited. Cinnabar (Zhusha) can be mixed with distilled liquor (Shaojiu) for topical application. Taking Qiongye San (Nerium Decoction) while drinking to intoxication will cause swelling to subside and pain to cease spontaneously. If subjected to heavy punishment again resulting in ulceration, Daizhang Tang (Beating Substitution Decoction) should be administered promptly. For those with weak Qi and Blood (Qi Xue), major tonification is required; applying Liuzhen Gao (Six True Ointment) will immediately relieve pain.

[Annotation] Crush injury refers to squeezing injury. High-potency topical applications and mud-pasting methods are contraindicated, as they may lead to subsequent swelling and suppuration (formation of pus). In the initial stage after injury, Daizhang Dan (Beating Substitution Pill) should be taken to protect the Heart (Xin). Subsequently, Silver Cinnabar (Yinzhu) or Cinnabar powder should be mixed with distilled liquor and applied to the injured area. Another person should use their ten fingertips to gently peck at the patient's soles until the patient first feels itching and then pain. Then, one or two people should gently sweep a pen tube over the dorsum of the patient's foot to assist in promoting blood circulation. Treatment continues until the depressed wound site becomes raised and the surrounding area swells. At this point, take Qiongye San while drinking to the point of drunkenness. The next day, wipe off the applied silver cinnabar and only use Xizhangshang Tang (Crush Injury Washing Decoction) for hot compresses/washing two to three times daily. On the second day, take Qiongye San again; the swelling will naturally subside and pain will stop. If subjected to heavy punishment again causing rupture/ulceration, apply Qiongye Gao externally and take Daizhang Tang internally. Subsequently, major tonification of Qi and Blood is necessary to facilitate recovery. During the tissue regeneration phase, switch to applying Liuzhen Gao for its rapid efficacy.

Formula: Daizhang Dan (Beating Substitution Pill)
Ingredients: Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Sumu (Sappan Lignum), Qiuyin (Hirudo, cleaned of soil), Wumingyi (Haematitum), Danpi (Moutan Cortex), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Mubiezi (Strychni Semen), Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha), Ziran Tong (Ferrosum). (Ziran Tong is calcined in fire and quenched in vinegar seven times; each ingredient weighs 1 liang).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills, each weighing 2 qian. Take one pill dissolved in yellow wine.

[Prescription Verse] Daizhang Dan protects Heart Blood preventing internal attack; Dingxiang, Sumu, Hirudo, Wumingyi; Danpi, Rougui, Mubiezi; Ruxiang, Moyao, Ziran Tong.

Another Formula: Qiongye San (Nerium Powder)
Ingredients: Yaoyanghua (Datura Metel Flos) ground into powder. Dosage: 5 fen per dose, 7 fen for robust individuals. First drink pure wine until half-drunk, then take the medicine mixed with wine, followed by drinking until fully intoxicated. Lie quietly without speaking; speaking induces numbness. Numbness resolves the next day. This rapidly reduces swelling and stops pain. Take continuously for 3-5 doses; for weak patients, administer every other day.

[Prescription Verse] Qiongye San eliminates blood stasis; drink wine until half-intoxicated; take Yaoyanghua powder mixed with wine; like drinking nectar, drunk as if infatuated.

Another Formula: Xizhang Tang (Crush Injury Washing Decoction)
Ingredients: Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Tougucao (Euphorbiae Humifusae Herba), Nanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma), Tiandong (Asparagi Radix), Digupi (Lycii Cortex), Tianlinggai (Human Cranium, 5 qian each); Xiangpi (Tapir Skin, chopped, 1 liang).
Decoct in water for soaking and washing, 2-3 times daily.

[Prescription Verse] Xizhang Tang contains Chenpi, Tougucao, Nanxing; Tiandong, Digupi, Tianlinggai together; decoct Xiangpi in water and wash diligently daily; reduces swelling and relieves pain in crush injuries.

Another Formula: Qiongye Gao (Nerium Ointment)
Ingredients: Dangguiwei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Yaoyanghua (Datura Metel Flos), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Puhuang (Typhae Pollen) (each 2 liang).
Soak herbs in 1 jin of sesame oil for seven days. Fry until withered, remove dregs. Add 1 liang each of Bai La (White Beeswax) and Huang La (Yellow Beeswax), melt completely. Filter through silk cloth. When slightly warm, add Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum, 6 fen), Moyao (Myrrha, 6 qian), and Ruxiang (Olibanum, 6 qian) powders. Mix evenly and spread on dressing for application.

[Prescription Verse] Qiongye Gao applied for ruptured crush injuries; Dangguiwei, Yaoyanghua, Honghua, Baizhi, Puhuang; fried in oil with white and yellow wax; plus Bingpian, Moyao, and Ruxiang.

Another Formula: Daizhang Tang (Beating Substitution Decoction)
Ingredients: Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha), Sumu (Sappan Lignum) (each 2 qian), Puhuang (Typhae Pollen), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, stir-fried with bran), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw), Dangguiwei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Danpi (Moutan Cortex), Mu'er (Auricularia Auricula-Judae), Shanzhijia (Manis Squama, roasted and powdered, each 1 qian), Tumu Bie (Strychnos Seed, baked, 5 qian).
Decoct in wine and water for oral administration.

[Prescription Verse] Daizhang Tang effectively treats crush injuries; Ruxiang, Moyao, Puhuang, Mutong, Zhike, Gancao; Dangguiwei, Danpi, Tumu Bie, Mu'er; decoct Sumu in wine and roast Shanzhijia.

Another Formula: Liuzhen Gao (Six True Ointment)
Ingredients: Zhangnao (Camphora), Haiercha (Child's Tea/Catechu), Diluxiang (Frankincense), Xuexie (Dracaena Sanguinis), Moyao (Myrrha), Sanqi (Notoginseng Radix) (each 3 qian).
Grind all into fine powder. Use 12 liang of Pig Fat Oil (Zhuzhiyou), melt in a bowl over boiling water. Add the herbal powder to the oil, mix evenly, and spread for application.
