[Song on Pediatric Eyelid Proliferation]
Clause: The child develops a proliferation within the eyelids. Initially small, it gradually enlarges and obscures the pupil by friction. Redness, dryness, and excessive tearing indicate heat in the Spleen and Stomach. Hooking, cutting, or washing can be used to remove blood stasis and redness.
Formula: Qingwei San (Clear the Stomach Decoction) utilizes Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed), along with Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Dahuang (Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Heishen (Scrophulariae Radix, here referred to as Black Shen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix).
Formula: Qingwei San (Clear the Stomach Decoction)
Herbs: Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Heishen (Scrophulariae Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), each 1 qian.
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above herbs into a coarse powder. Add two cups of water and decoct until one cup remains. Strain and take warm after meals.
Annotation [1]: The condition of pediatric eyelid proliferation occurs inside the eyelids. It begins like a hemp seed and gradually grows to the size of a bean over time, hidingly rubbing against the pupil, causing redness, dryness, and tearing. This is caused by the upward congestion of heat from the Spleen and Stomach.
Annotation [2]: First, use manual techniques, such as hooking, cutting, or washing, to disperse external blood stasis; then administer Qingwei San (Clear the Stomach Decoction) to clear internal heat.

[Song on Pediatric Congenital Blindness]
Clause: Pediatric congenital blindness (Qingmang) results from wind pathogen acquisition during gestation. The pupil appears normal, but vision is blurred. Treatment requires Mingmu Yanggan Wan (Liver-Soothing and Vision-Clarifying Mutton Liver Pill), containing Rougui (Cinnamon Bark), Baiboren (Biota Seed), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), and Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma).
Formula: Zhen Gan Mingmu Yanggan Wan (Liver-Calming and Vision-Clarifying Mutton Liver Pill)
Herbs: One mutton liver (from a castrated ram, baked dry in a new clay pot; if smaller, use half; slice with a bamboo knife); Guanrougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Baiboren (Biota Semen), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), each 5 qian; Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, stir-fried) 7 qian; Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) 5 qian.
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Use refined honey to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 1 qian on an empty stomach, dissolved in boiling water.
Annotation [1]: Pediatric Qingmang (congenital blindness) is due to wind pathogen acquired in utero. After birth, the pupil looks normal with clear black and white parts, but the child cannot see. There may be frequent night terrors and vomiting of phlegm-saliva and yellow fluid.
Annotation [2]: Zhen Gan Mingmu Yanggan Wan (Liver-Calming and Vision-Clarifying Mutton Liver Pill) is suitable; long-term administration leads to recovery.

[Song on Pediatric Gan Eye Disease]
Clause: Pediatric Gan eye disease arises from Liver and Spleen pathology, presenting with swelling, pain, dryness, tearing, and nebula covering the pupil. Symptoms include nail-biting, nose-rubbing, and lying face-down. Siwei Fei'er Wan (Four-Ingredient Child-Nourishing Pill) contains Shenqu (Medicated Leaven), Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus), Wuyi (Descurainiae Semen), and others.
Formula: Siwei Fei'er Wan (Four-Ingredient Child-Nourishing Pill)
Herbs: Shenqu (Medicated Leaven, stir-fried), Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus, stir-fried), Wuyi (Descurainiae Semen), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, stir-fried), equal parts.
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above herbs into a fine powder and mix evenly. Form pills using rice paste, sized like tung tree seeds. Take 1 qian per dose, administered with plain boiled water on an empty stomach.
Annotation [1]: Pediatric Gan eye disease initially stems from dietary injury to the Spleen. Over time, Liver heat rushes upward, causing severe swelling and pain that makes opening the eyes difficult, along with hidden discomfort, dryness, and excessive tearing. A white membrane gradually forms, with nebula obscuring the vision. External signs include plucking eyebrows, biting nails, rubbing the nose, preferring to lie face-down, and avoiding lifting the head.
Annotation [2]: Siwei Fei'er Wan (Four-Ingredient Child-Nourishing Pill) is suitable; long-term administration yields efficacy.
