The classic states: The Heart is the sovereign official, from which Shen (Spirit/Mind) emerges.
It further states: The Heart is located below the pulmonary tube and above the diaphragm, attached to the fifth thoracic vertebra of the spine. Its function connects with the vessels, its luster manifests in the complexion,
and it opens into the ears; it is also said to open into the tongue.
It further states: This meridian (Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian) has less blood and more Qi.
The *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) states: The Heart weighs twelve liang, contains seven mammary-like structures and three hairs, holds three he of essence fluid, and primarily functions to store Shen (Spirit).
Zhang Jiebin stated: The Heart is pointed and round in shape, resembling a lotus stamen. It possesses orifices within, varying in number, which guide the Tianzhen (True/Innate) Qi.
There are no perforating orifices at the bottom, but it connects upward to the tongue. There are four ties in total, connecting to the other four Zang organs. Outside the Heart, there is red-yellow fat wrapping it, which is called the Xinbao Luo (Pericardium).
Below the Heart lies the diaphragm, surrounding the spine and hypochondrium, shielding turbid Qi so that it cannot ascend to fumigate the Heart and Lungs. This is what is referred to as Danzhong (Chest Center).

Article:
The Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian originates in the Heart, emerges to belong to the Heart system, descends through the diaphragm, and connects with the Small Intestine; its branch ascends from the Heart system along both sides of the pharynx,
connecting to the Eye System; its main trunk returns from the Heart system, ascends into the Lung, descends out of the axilla, follows the posterior medial border of the upper arm,
running posterior to the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian and Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, descends into the elbow, follows the posterior medial border of the forearm, reaches the end of the styloid process of the ulna (sharp bone) at the wrist, enters the posterior medial aspect of the palm,
and emerges from the tip of the little finger (Figure 51).
Article:
The Hand-Shaoyin Meridian originates in the Heart, descends through the diaphragm directly connecting with the Small Intestine; the branch returns from the Lung system, ascending straight to the throat and connecting to the pupil;
the main trunk ascends into the Lung, exits the axilla, passes through Shaohai (HT3) in the posterior elbow region, follows the posterior medial forearm to the palm, and injects into Shaochong (HT9) at the end of the sharp bone.
Note: [1] The Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian originates in the Heart, emerges to belong to the Heart system, descends from the Heart system through the diaphragm, and connects with the Small Intestine;

returns from the Heart system, ascends to connect with the Lung, runs posterior to the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian and Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, descends out of the axilla, which is Ji Quan (HT1).

[4] From Shaohai (HT3), reaching the end of the sharp bone at the wrist, are Ling Dao (HT4), Tong Li (HT5), Yin Xi (HT6), Shen Men (HT7), etc.
[5] From Shen Men (HT7), entering the posterior medial aspect of the palm, is Shao Fu (HT8).
[6] From Shao Fu (HT8), following the medial side of the little finger and emerging from its tip, is Shao Chong (HT9), where it terminates,
thereby connecting with the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian.
