[Prescription Verse] Jun Du (Fungus Toxin) arises at the edge of the eyelashes, resembling a fungus with a yellow, bright, and round blister. The head is large while the stalk is small, gradually hanging out; it is caused by Spleen dampness and stagnant heat condensing firmly.
[Annotation] This condition arises at the margin of the upper and lower eyelids near the eyelashes. Initially, it resembles a fungus, with a large head and a small stalk, appearing as a yellow, shiny blister. There may also be cases where the head is small and the stalk is large. It gradually grows and hangs outward, becoming hard and firm without pain. Some cases linger for years without healing, leading to eye diseases. Since the eyelids belong to the Spleen, this condition arises from pre-existing damp-heat in its meridians, combined with emotional stagnation and Qi constraint. In the early stage, washing with Qingliang Yuan (Cooling Circle) can eliminate it. If the skin has thickened after many years and washing is ineffective, the treatment method should involve moistening the area of the Jun Du on the eyelid with soft cotton paper dipped in water. After a short while, use the thumbnail of the left hand to pad the root of the lesion, and hold a Bizen needle (a type of ancient surgical needle) in the right hand to cut off the base flush with the root. Do not wipe the blood that flows out; immediately apply a thick paste made from Cuiyun Ding (Emerald Cloud Pill) ground with water to stop the bleeding. Internally, administer Liangge Qingpi Yin (Cooling the Diaphragm and Clearing the Spleen Decoction). Avoid seafood and fried foods.
Formula: Qingliang Yuan (Cooling Circle)
Composition: Danggui Wei (Tail of Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shichangpu (Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (each 2 qian), Chuan Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis, raw) (2 qian), Difuzi (Fructus Kochiae), Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum, raw) (each 1 qian), Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii) (0.5 qian), Danfan (Alumen) (0.2 qian).
Grind all ingredients into a coarse powder. Wrap them in a piece of red silk cloth, sized like a cherry. Soak in sweet boiling water, dip and wash the affected area while hot, ensuring no dust contaminates it.
[Prescription Verse] Qingliang Yuan contains Chuan Huanglian, Danggui Wei, Shichangpu, Chishao, and Danfan. Qianghuo, Xingren, and Difuzi are added. Washing with this formula cures Jun Du in its early stage.
Formula: Cuiyun Dingzi (Emerald Cloud Pill)
Composition: Hangfen (Starch of Oryza Sativa, specifically refined rice starch) (5 liang), Tonglv (Chalcanthite), Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis) (each 1 liang), Qingfen (Calomelas) (1 qian).
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Take 100 grains of glutinous rice, add one bowl of water, and decoct until half a bowl remains; remove the rice. Continue decocting until only one-third of the liquid remains. Mix the medicinal powder with this concentrated liquid to form pills, and dry them in the shade. When using, grind with water to make a thick paste, and apply to the affected area using a chicken feather.
[Prescription Verse] Cuiyun Dingzi can stop bleeding. Chalcanthite, Calomelas, Rice Starch, and Coptis are potent. Ground together and formed into pills, they are excellent for application after cutting Jun Du.
Another Formula: Liangge Qingpi Yin (Cooling the Diaphragm and Clearing the Spleen Decoction)
Composition: Sheng Dihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, raw), Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae, heart removed), Zhizi (Fructus Gardeniae, raw and crushed), Bohe (Herba Menthae), Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, calcined), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (each 1 qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae).
Decoct two zhong of water with twenty roots of Dengxincao (Papyrus Pith) until eight fen remains. Take after meals.
[Prescription Verse] Liangge Qingpi Yin uses Sheng Dihuang, Lianqiao, Zhizi, Bohe, Jingjie, and Fangfeng. Combined with Shigao, Huangqin, Chishao, and Gancao, taking this medicine cures Jun Du promptly.
