[Formula Song] Scrotal eczema (Scrotal Wind) originates from the Liver Meridian, caused by external invasion of wind-dampness. Symptoms include numbness and itching; scratching breaks the skin leading to exudation of fatty fluid. In severe cases, nodules arise with burning pain.
[Annotation] This condition is also known as "Embroidered Ball Wind," characterized by scrotal pruritus. The etiology involves damp-heat in the Liver Meridian combined with external wind invading and accumulating within the skin. Initially, the skin is dry with extreme itching, often preferring hot water baths. In severe stages, nodules appear resembling red millet grains, accompanied by numbness and itching. Scratching leads to oozing of fatty fluid, with skin heat and burning pain, indicating interior heat syndrome. All such cases should be treated internally with Longdan Xiegan Tang (Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction), externally washed with Shechuangzi Decoction (Cnidium Monier Decoction), and after washing, applied with Langdu Ointment for excellent efficacy.
Formula: Shechuangzi Decoction (Cnidium Monier Decoction)
Composition: Salvia Miltiorrhiza Radix et Rhizoma (Weilingxian), Cnidii Fructus (Shechuangzi), Angelicae Sinensis Radix Rubra (Dangguiwei) (each 5 qian), Amomi Fructus Rotundus Pericarpium (Suoshaqiao) (3 qian), Polygoni Multiflori Caulis (Tudahuang), Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen) (each 5 qian), Old Scallion Bulb (Laocong tou) (7 pieces).
Usage: Use five bowls of water, boil several times until rolling, pour into a basin. First fumigate the affected area, then soak when the temperature is suitable.
[Formula Song] Shechuangzi Decoction washes scrotal wind, stopping itching and dispelling wind/dampness with spiritual efficacy; Weilingxian, Dangguiwei, Suoshaqiao, along with Tudahuang, Kushen, and scallion.
Another Formula: Langdu Ointment
Composition: Stellerae Chamaejasme Radix (Langdu), Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (Chuanjiao), Sulfur (Liuhuang), Arecae Semen (Binglang), Arcaea Concha (Wenge), Cnidii Fructus (Shechuangzi), Jatrophae Semen (Dafengzi), Alum Calcined (Ku Bai Fan) (each 3 qian).
Preparation and Usage: Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Boil one teacup of sesame oil, add one bile from a male pig, mix evenly with the powder, and apply to the affected area.
[Formula Song] Langdu Ointment rubs embroidered ball wind, treating wet itching and oozing with burning pain; Jiao, Liu, Bing, Ge, Chuang, Fengzi, Ku Fan mixed with pig bile and oil.
Another Formula: Longdan Xiegan Tang (Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction) (See section on Waist Herpes Zoster).
[Formula Song] Female Yin Sores is a general term; each has specific manifestations belonging to different meridians. Yin Ting (uterine prolapse/prolapse-like structure) like a snake results from Spleen deficiency; Yin Zhong (vulvar swelling) results from labor injuring the Blood level; Yin Shi (vulvar erosion/ulceration) results from Stomach deficiency and accumulated stagnation; Yin Tuo (vaginal opening unable to close) arises from excessive worry and thought; Yin Tui (Qi and Blood double deficiency) results from dual deficiency of Qi and Blood. Treatment should follow the symptoms to bring all conditions to peace.
[Annotation] These conditions all occur in the genital organs. If a snake-like structure protrudes from the vagina, it is named Yin Ting. It is caused by Spleen Meridian deficiency or wind invasion after postpartum anger. Initially, treat with Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) plus Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica) and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix). Subsequently, take Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) in the morning with doubled Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), and Longdan Xiegan Tang (Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction) in the evening; externally wash with Shechuangzi decoction. If the vulva suddenly swells and hurts, it is named Yin Zhong, also called蚌疽 (Clam Abscess), caused by labor injuring the Blood level. Treat with Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) plus Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix), and Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), or Qinjiao Tang (Gentianae Macrophyllae Decoction); externally use 1 liang of Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), 6 qian of Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), and 5 qian of Daji (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix), decocted for fumigation and washing. If nodules grow outside the genitalia and small insects cause itching inside, it is named Yin Shi, also called Ni Chuang (Hidden Sore), caused by Stomach deficiency and accumulated stagnation. Treat with Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) plus Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Longdancao (Gentianae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), and Mutong (Akebiae Caulis). If chills, fever, and consumptive disease symptoms appear, indicating insects have entered the Zang-Fu organs, treat with Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) taken with Luhu Wan (Aloe Pill), morning and evening. Externally wash with Shiyang Tang (Damp-Itch Decoction), then insert Yinxing San (Ginkgo Powder) into the vagina to kill insects and stop itching. If the vaginal opening remains open without closing, with itching, pain, and discharge, it is named Yin Tuo, caused by excessive worry and thought. Treat with Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) or Guipi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction), both added with Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), and Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex). If acquired postpartum, treat with Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) added with Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) and Cu Chao Baishao (Vinegar-processed Paeoniae Radix Alba). Externally, all cases use Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica), Zhike (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Hezi (Terminalia Chebulae Fructus), and Wenge (Arcaea Concha) in large doses for decoction and fumigation. If the uterus prolapses, it is named Yin Tui, commonly called "Tui Hulu" (Hanging Gourd), caused by dual deficiency of Qi and Blood. Treat with Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) removing Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), doubling Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), and adding Yimucao (Leonuri Herba). Externally, apply mashed Castor Bean Flesh (Bimazi Rou) to the top of the head (Baihui point), and fumigate with half a jin of Zhike (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) decoction. If caused by unfulfilled desires and Liver Qi stagnation, initially there is a sensation of blockage in urination, leading to straining. Over time, the prolapse occurs with straining. Have a midwife reduce the gourd-shaped prolapse, have the patient lie supine with a pillow under the waist, and blow sneezing medicine to induce sneezing for reduction. Once reduced, tightly close the genitalia, bind the legs firmly with cloth, and continue internal administration of Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) for self-healing.
