[Formula: Wan Ying Gao (Ten Thousand Benefits Plaster)]
Indications: This plaster treats various carbuncles, furuncles, back sores (fabei), and sores at the back of the neck (duikou), as well as toxins from phlegm nodules (tanhé) and flowing abscesses (liuzhu); application yields excellent results.
Composition: Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix Preparata), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix Preparata), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Bailing (Ampelopsis Radix), Baiji (Bletillae Rhizoma), Xiangpi (Tapir or Elephant Skin), Guigui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Tumiebei (Momordicae Semen), Chuanshanjia (Manis Squama), Wuyao (Linderae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Yuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Dingfen (Lead Tetroxide), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (each 5 qian).
Preparation: The above nineteen herbs are used, with Dingfen kept separate. Soak the herbs in 5 jin of refined sesame oil. Soak for five days in spring, three days in summer, seven days in autumn, and ten days in winter. When the time is sufficient, place them in a clean large pot and simmer over low heat until the herbs become dry and float to the surface. Let the fire rest for a moment, then filter out the dregs using a cloth bag. Weigh the oil accurately; for every 1 jin of oil, add 0.5 jin of Dingfen. Stir occasionally with peach or willow branches until the plaster is black as lacquer and bright as a mirror, and forms beads when dropped into water. Spread on thin paper for application.
[Prescription Song] Wan Ying Gao is applied for various toxins, including back sores, carbuncles, and neck sores; it contains Chuanwu, Caowu, Dihuang, Bailing, Xiangpi, Guizhi, Baizhi, Chishao, Danggui, Qianghuo, Kushen, Mubeizi, Chuanshanjia, Wuyao, Gancao, Duhuo, Yuanshen, Dingfen, and Dahuang.

Composition: Prepared Sesame Oil (4 liang), Prepared Pine Rosin (Songxiang) (1 jin).
Preparation: Boil the sesame oil, add pine rosin, and melt over low heat. Stir with a willow branch until completely dissolved. Remove from fire, add 2.3 qian of fine herb powder, stir evenly, then pour into water. Pull and stretch dozens of times, change water, soak, and set aside for use.
Modifications: 1. For blood stasis swelling toxins and scrofula that have not ulcerated, add Wei Xiang San according to the size of the plaster and severity of the condition, adding between 0.5 fen to 2-3 fen per dose.
2. For deep-seated toxins with incomplete pus discharge, and stubborn sores like duikou, this plaster must be used even if ulcerated to achieve efficacy.
3. For un-ulcerated lesions, do not peel off the plaster; peeling causes itching. Do not peel if painful, as it accelerates suppuration. Apply on paper for flat areas; apply on silk for joint areas requiring movement.
4. For tinea sores and cold-damp sores on buttocks and legs, wash the area with tea water containing a small amount of alum before application for better results.
5. For headache, apply to Taiyang acupoint; for toothache, insert into the gum line.
6. For internal abscesses, make into pills coated with Ge Fen (Clam Shell Powder) and swallow.
7. For inguinal abscesses and phlegm nodules, increase the amount of Wei Xiang San; for suppurative sores, add Tongqing (Malachite). It is also effective for shen gong tou (snail arch head skin disease) and tinea toxins.
