[1] The arm bones, extending from the elbow to the wrist, consist of two bones: the radius and the ulna.
<1> The one located inferiorly with a larger and longer shape, connecting to the olecranon (elbow tip), is called the radius (arm bone).
<2> The one located superiorly with a shorter and thinner shape is called the ulna (accessory bone), commonly known as "Changu".
<3> These two bones overlap and lean against each other, both connecting distally to the carpal bones.
[2] Injuries to the arm bones are mostly caused by direct impact leading to fractures. This may involve fractures of both the radius and ulna, or only one of them, resulting in blood stasis accumulation and pain.
<1> Use manual reduction to align the fractured ends correctly, apply Wanning Ointment (Ten Thousand Spirits Plaster), wrap with a bamboo splint, and secure tightly with cloth strips.
<2> After three days, remove the splint for inspection. Press the affected area with fingers; if any irregularity remains, massage the knotted sinews until they return to their original state. Replace the plaster and re-wrap with the bamboo splint.
<3> Take Zhenggu Zijin Dan (Orthopedic Purple Gold Pill) every morning on an empty stomach.
Notes on Formulas: [1] Wanning Ointment: See section on Fontanelle Bone Injury; [2] Zhenggu Zijin Dan: See section on Vertex Bone Injury.

[1] The clavicle, meridian name Zhugu (Supporting Bone), lies horizontally outside the Quepen (CV12) anterior to both shoulders, with its two ends connecting laterally to the shoulder joint.
[2] Fractures of this bone can result from blows, or from falling off while riding a horse or carriage due to leaning to retrieve an object:
<1> First, use manual technique to press the sternum, then adduct the shoulder end inward. Massage the fractured bone to reduce it into place. Then, suspend the arm on the neck using a bandage to prevent movement.
<2> Internally administer Renshen Zijin Dan (Ginseng Purple Gold Pill), externally apply Dingtong San (Pain-Relieving Powder) with heat compression, and apply Wanning Ointment. The condition can be cured.
Notes on Formulas: [1] Renshen Zijin Dan, Dingtong San, and Wanning Ointment: All see section on Fontanelle Bone Injury.
