The *Yufang Mijue* (Secrets of the Jade Chamber) states: Chonghezi said, "Gentleness and kindness, prudence and caution, are the beautiful nature of women. If one can achieve a balance of plumpness and slenderness, and height and shortness that is appropriate, it not only pleases the eyes and mind but also significantly benefits longevity."
It further states: "When engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman, one must select a young woman who has not yet developed breasts, has abundant muscle, fine hair like silk, small eyes with distinct black and white pupils. Her face and body should be moist and smooth; her speech and voice should be harmonious and low. The bones of her four limbs and joints should be concealed within flesh, with more flesh and less prominent bone. There should be no hair on her genitals and underarms; if there is hair, it should be fine and smooth."
The *Daqing Jing* (Great Purity Classic) states: The Yellow Emperor asked, "What is the method for observing women?" Sunu replied, "To observe a woman: her nature should be gentle and compliant; her breath and voice soft; her hair silky and black; her muscles weak and bones slender; her height neither too long nor too short; her figure neither too large nor too small; her vaginal opening preferably high; no hair on her genitals; and she should have abundant seminal fluid. She should be between twenty-five and thirty years old, and have never given birth. During intercourse, her seminal fluid flows and ripples, her body trembles and cannot remain steady, sweat flows profusely ('bu' is a variant character or textual error), and she follows your movements. Even if the man does not follow specific techniques, obtaining such a woman will not cause harm."
It further states: "With fine bones and weak muscles, flesh that is soft and lustrous, clear and fair thin skin, fingers whose joints are fine and concealed, ears, eyes, and nose bridge high and bright white, height neither too short nor too tall, thick thighs, a vaginal opening that is high and tight, a full body, no hair above, a body slippery as cotton, and genitals soft and moist like grease, practicing this way allows for all-night activity without fatigue, benefiting the husband, and resulting in noble and wealthy offspring."
It further states: "Regarding the method for observing noble and respected women, one seeks those with smooth skin, weak bones, a harmonious temperament, hair lustrous as lacquer, pleasing and beautiful features, no hair on the genitals, fine and quiet speech, and a forward-facing vaginal opening. Intercourse with them causes no fatigue even after a whole day. One must strive to find such a woman, which can nourish the nature and extend life."
The *Yufang Mijue* states: "If encountering an undesirable female physiognomy: messy hair, rough face, stiff neck with a prominent Adam's apple, teeth resembling wheat grains, masculine voice, large mouth and high nose, turbid eyeballs, and long hair at the corners of the mouth and chin resembling sideburns; prominent and large bone joints, yellowish hair with little flesh, coarse and strong genital hair, and body hair growing in reverse directions; intercourse with such a person will all damage the human body."
It further states: "Women with coarse skin should not be engaged with; emaciated bodies should not be engaged with; those who habitually look down from a high position should not be engaged with; men with high-pitched voices and excessive qi should not be engaged with; those with hair on the thighs and calves should not be engaged with; jealous women should not be engaged with; women with cold genitals should not be engaged with; those who are not pleasant or kind should not be engaged with; those who are overly full after eating should not be engaged with; women over forty should not be engaged with; those with disharmonious heart and abdomen should not be engaged with; those with reverse-growing hair should not be engaged with; those with constantly cold bodies should not be engaged with; those with strong and hard bones should not be engaged with; those with curly hair and prominent Adam's apples should not be engaged with; those with axillary odor should not be engaged with; those producing excessive vaginal discharge should not be engaged with."
The *Daqing Jing* states: "The method for observing women requires detailed examination of the hair on the genitals and underarms. It should be downward-growing and soft/lustrous. If it grows upward in reverse, or if there is hair on the arms and calves, and the skin is coarse and not smooth, these all harm the male. Although only one union occurs, it is equivalent to a hundred instances of damage."
It further states: "Women with male characteristics, whose vitality fluctuates with the moon's phases, belong to the 'yin-male' category and cause particularly severe harm to men. Those with red faces, emaciation, chronic diseases, and lack of vital energy are of no benefit to men."
