These vessels originate within the Bao Gong (Uterus) and serve as the Sea of the Twelve Meridians. Excessive labor causes deficiency in Chong and Ren Qi, leading to an inability to control the menses, resulting in sudden profuse bleeding, termed Bengzhong. If there is retained blood stasis internally, bleeding may stop and start intermittently, dripping continuously; this is called Bengzhong Louxia (Metrorrhagia and Metrostaxis).
It further states: Persistent Louxia damages the Five Zang Organs. The color of the discharge varies according to the affected organ. Due to deficiency, the five colors mix with blood and descend. The manifestations are: white like phlegm, red like red juice, yellow like rotting melon juice, blue-green like indigo, and black like clotted blood.
