Take one jin of seaweed, remove the saltiness, cut it into pieces, and soak it in two dou of good wine. Administer two he of this wine per dose, two to three times daily. When the wine is consumed and the dregs are dried, process them into a powder. Administer one fangcun bi (a measure equivalent to a square inch spoonful) per dose.
The *Chan Jing* states: Whenever an infant suffers from deep-rooted abscesses (fugujü), they will cry loudly when someone approaches or holds them, indicating pain in the limbs and joints, or a reluctance to move the four limbs, presenting a state resembling paralysis or loss of motor control. The treatment prescription is: Upon initial onset, administer the Descurainia Decoction (Loulou Tang) to purge the interior, and apply a thin poultice made of adzuki beans externally.
The *Chan Jing* states: Carbuncles and sores often occur on the fingers, resembling onychia (daizhi). If people fail to notice and do not treat it promptly, the toxicity will enter the zang organs, leading to death. Upon closer examination, if a carbuncle occurs at the fingertip, black spots appear first, and the pain is severe enough to reach the heart. First, prick the fingertip to evacuate bad blood, then moxibustion with seven moxa cones (zhuang) is effective.
Another prescription: Administer rhinoceros horn juice; this is excellent.
Another prescription: Administer cimicifuga juice.
Another prescription: Apply sunflower root juice.
Another prescription: Apply bamboo sap juice.
Another prescription: Apply indigo juice.
The *Chan Jing* states: Onychia (daizhi) initially presents with swelling, where the skin color is red and hot but not dark. Subsequently, pus forms along the nail bed; in severe cases, the nail may fall off. The treatment prescription is: Soak the affected area in hot licorice decoction.
Another prescription: Soak in mirabilite juice.
Another prescription: Prick to release blood, then soak in hot water.
Another prescription: Mix pig fat with salt, heat it, and insert it into the nail fold; relief comes shortly. If pus has already formed, puncture to drain the pus and blood.
The *Bingyuan Lun* (Treatise on the Origins and Manifestations of Various Diseases) states: "Rao chong" (wandering parasites) are caused by transformational processes; tiny worms exist within the sores, which are very difficult to see. Infants become infected due to contact with caregivers suffering from scabies.
The *Qianjin Fang* (Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) states: Burn leaf bamboo to ash, mix with egg white, and apply topically, two to three times daily.
Another prescription: Mix butter with lead carbonate (hufen) and apply.
Another prescription: Mix ash from tangled hair with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month and apply.
The *Chan Jing* states: Take five he of Sichuan peppercorn, grind into powder, boil in one dou of water for three boils, strain the dregs, and use the warm liquid for bathing; this is effective. Improvement is seen after a meal's time; if itching persists, soak again. Improvement is seen after a meal's time.
The *Bingyuan Lun* states: Tinea (xuanchuang) arises from the struggle between wind pathogens and qi and blood. Tinea occurring on an infant's face is called "milk tinea" (ruxuan), attributed to milk contaminating the infant's face; washing with milk leads to recovery.
The *Chan Jing* states: For all tinea, if the superficial skin is not abraded before applying medicine, the condition cannot be cured. Wash with warm water infused with dung from black-haired cattle; this is effective.
Another prescription: Powder the inner bark of peach, mix with vinegar, and apply.
Another prescription: Fry lead carbonate until yellow, mix with vinegar, and apply; reapply when dry; this is effective.
The *Qianjin Fang* prescription for wet tinea:
Powder the green peel of peach, mix with vinegar, and apply.
It also states: For dry tinea: Pound the root of Chinese wolfberry, mix with pig fat, and apply. Mixing with vinegar is even better.
