The *Bingyuan Lun* (Treatise on the Causes and Manifestations of Diseases) states: Pediatric nocturnal sweating refers to spontaneous perspiration during sleep. If the child is kept too warm during care, leading to an interaction of Yin and Yang Qi during sleep and lying down, body fluids are released, resulting in sweating while sleeping.
The *Ge Shi Fang* (Prescriptions by Master Ge) records: Mix one part dried ginger powder with three parts rice flour, and apply this mixture as a dusting powder to the body.
Another prescription: One tael of gypsum, two taels of Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄), mixed with honey into pills the size of small beans. Take one pill per dose.
The *Duanju Fang* (Short Drama Prescriptions) records: Three parts Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连), three parts Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu, 贝母), two parts Ostreae Concha (Muli, 牡蛎). Grind these three substances together with one sheng of rice flour, sift them, and use the powder to dust the body.
The *Jiyan Fang* (Experienced Prescriptions) records: Three parts Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Gancao, 甘草 - Note: Text says Mahuang Gen, corrected to Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma (Mahuanggen, 麻黄根)), one part ash from burnt old fans. Grind and mix, add milk, and take three fen bi (ancient measuring spoon); for adults, take one cun bi (square-inch spoon), three times daily.
(The method in the *Duanju Fang* is the same.)
The *Bingyuan Lun* states: When children sweat and remove their clothes, wind pathogens enter the Couli (interstices of skin and muscles). The wind interacts and contends with Blood and Qi, forming nodules that cluster and connect, resulting in urticaria (hidden rashes). Since the wind pathogen remains only in the superficial layers of the Couli, the condition is mild; thus, there is no swelling or pain, only the appearance of hidden rashes accompanied by itching.
The *Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) provides a prescription for treating urticaria:
Wash with extremely salty salt water, then wring out Polygoni Multiflori Vine (Liaocao, 蓼) and apply the juice.
Another prescription: Two sheng of Bombyx Batryticatus (Can Sha, 蚕砂), two sheng of water. Boil, remove the dregs, and wash the affected area with the decoction.
The *Chan Jing* (Obstetrics Classic) states: To treat pediatric wind-induced itching and urticaria entering the abdomen, causing body swelling, stiffness, and dry tongue. For the swelling prescription:
Grind Brassicae Napus Seed (Wujingzi, 芜菁子) into powder, take one cun bi with wine, three times daily.
The *Jiyao Fang* (Extremely Important Prescriptions) records: Two taels of Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao, 芒硝), three sheng of clear wine. Boil until two sheng remain, and use the liquid to wash the itchy areas; this is effective. Retain the dosage for Wujingzi taken with wine, three times daily.
The *Bingyuan Lun* states: Wind-heat toxic pathogens reside in the Couli. Heat-toxic pathogens contend with blood and evaporate outward, causing the skin to become hot and red, resembling applied cinnabar; hence it is called "Dan" (erysipelas/carbuncle). If not resolved for a long time, it will cause muscle rot and injury.
The *Chan Jing* states: Dan toxicity is caused by malignant toxic qi, presenting with variable colors. If not treated immediately, it will further destroy muscles. The treatment should focus on removing pus and blood.
Some cases manifest between joints and may lead to the severance of limbs. A prescription for this: Grind Vigna Angularis Seed (Chixiaodou, 赤小豆) into powder, mix with Licorice Decoction (Gancao Tang, 甘草汤), and apply topically.

The *Lu Yan Fang* provides a prescription for pediatric erysipelas:
Apply fresh Musa Basjoo Root (Ganjiao Gen, 甘蕉根) to the lesion; it is also advisable to ingest a small amount of its juice.
Another prescription: Crush Pilea Nummularia (Shenhuocao, 慎火草) and apply topically.

It also states: Crush [missing character] vegetables and apply topically.
Another prescription: Wash with water boiled from chestnut husks/spikes.
The *Bencao Shiyi* (Supplement to Materia Medica) states: Raw sliced crucian carp meat (Jiyu Kuai, 鲫鱼脍) treats erysipelas in both adults and children.
