The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) states: When a child's Kidney organ is vigorous and accompanied by Heat pathogen, the Heat rushes upward to the ear. The accumulation and coagulation of body fluids then generate pus. There are also cases where, due to bathing, water enters the ear and is not promptly drained, remaining stagnant. This stagnation interacts with blood and Qi, brewing into Heat, which also leads to the production of pus. These conditions are all referred to as Er Gan (Ear Fungus/Discharge). (If left untreated for a long time, it may develop into deafness.)
The *Jiyan Fang* (Collected Proven Prescriptions) states: Take the kernels from peach pits, cook them thoroughly, grind them into powder, (warm them), and use them to wrap and plug the ear. Frequent use yields good results.
