男不寿，女贫三嫁。六月生男二千石，女富贵。七月生男宜仕官，三娶，女小贵三嫁。八月
生男不利官，女为贱。九月生男贵当为师，女小贵三嫁。十月生男宜为吏，女贵宜财。十一
月生男有官秩，女为贵。十二月生男宜行禄 ，女得子力。
《产经》云∶甲子生，人勇而贵。乙丑生，勇而苦。丙寅丁卯生，无咎。戌辰己巳庚午
生，贱。辛未壬申癸酉生，贱。甲戌乙亥生，贱。丙子丁丑生，贱。戊寅己卯生，苦。庚辰
辛巳生，贱。壬午癸未生，贱。甲申乙酉生，宜为后。丙戌丁亥生，贱。戊子己丑生，多忧。
庚寅辛卯生，勇。壬辰癸巳生，贵。甲午乙未生，多忧。丙申丁酉生，多病。戊戌己亥生，
少兄弟。庚子辛丑生，无勇，人而不利。壬寅癸卯生，贵。甲辰乙巳生，人善。丙午丁未生，
人善。戊申己酉生，头不久，庚戌辛亥生，贱。壬子癸丑生，贱。甲寅乙卯生，人勇。丙辰
丁巳生，暴贵。戊午己未生，思之。庚申辛酉生，勇愁。壬戌癸亥生，困贱。
《产经》云∶子日生男子，三日三月不死，乐，年至七十二甲子死，属桑木。一云∶九
年不死为人君，终利父母。
丑日生男，四日五月不死，贵，年至六十六死，属桑木。一云∶富贵，利父母，恶腹。
寅日生男，五日四月不死，当富，年至六十七死。属松木。一云∶心勇悍，好田宅畜养，
不利父母，心自如。
卯日生男，六日二月不死，当贫，年至八十死，属杨木。一云∶三娶，好腹，正广不宜
道。
辰日生男，七日三月不死，当多病，年至七十三死，属杨木。一云∶心 为贫。
巳日生男，一日二月不死，当拾年至六十六死，属荡木。一云∶富贵二妻。
午日生男，七日三月不死，当两娶妇，年至六十九死，属桂木。一云∶妨父母，富马。
未日生男，三日二十一日不死，当官，年至八十五死，属桃木。一云∶为勇。
申日生男，二日二十二日不死，当为吏，年至五十一死，属棠木。一云∶数多病。
酉日生男，六日二月不死，当恐狂，年至六十六死，属杜檀木。一云∶多病。
戌日生男，一日三月不死，当喜争，年至七十二死，属青榆木。一云∶为富。
亥日生男，三日四月不死，当昌乐，年至六十五死，属黄榆木。一云∶好田宅。
The *Chan Jing* (Classic of Childbirth) states: A boy born in the first month will harm his brothers, while a girl is auspicious. A boy born in the second month will be noble but will harm his parents. (Note: If named "Ke An Du", there will be no blame; if a girl has an alternative name, it is auspicious.) A boy born in the third month will be noble and hold office, while a girl will be poor and childless. A boy born in the fourth month will govern the people, and a girl will become the wife of a noble. A boy born in the fifth month will have a short life, and a girl will be poor and marry three times. A boy born in the sixth month will hold a high official rank (Erqian Shi), and a girl will be wealthy and noble. A boy born in the seventh month is suitable for officialdom and will marry three times; a girl will have slightly higher status but will also marry three times. A boy born in the eighth month will not benefit from official career, and a girl will be of low status. A boy born in the ninth month will be noble and suitable to be a teacher, and a girl will have slightly higher status but will marry three times. A boy born in the tenth month is suitable to be a clerk, and a girl will be noble and beneficial to wealth. A boy born in the eleventh month will have an official salary, and a girl will be noble. A boy born in the twelfth month is suitable to enjoy emoluments, and a girl will receive support from her son.
The *Chan Jing* states: Those born on Jia Zi day are brave and noble. Those born on Yi Chou day are brave but suffer hardship. Those born on Bing Yin or Ding Mao days will have no blame. Those born on Wu Chen, Ji Si, or Geng Wu days are of low status. Those born on Xin Wei, Ren Shen, or Gui You days are of low status. Those born on Jia Xu or Yi Hai days are of low status. Those born on Bing Zi or Ding Chou days are of low status. Those born on Wu Yin or Ji Mao days suffer hardship. Those born on Geng Chen or Xin Si days are of low status. Those born on Ren Wu or Gui Wei days are of low status. Those born on Jia Shen or Yi You days are suitable as heirs. Those born on Bing Xu or Ding Hai days are of low status. Those born on Wu Zi or Ji Chou days worry much. Those born on Geng Yin or Xin Mao days are brave. Those born on Ren Chen or Gui Si days are noble. Those born on Jia Wu or Yi Wei days worry much. Those born on Bing Shen or Ding You days suffer many illnesses. Those born on Wu Xu or Ji Hai days have few siblings. Those born on Geng Zi or Xin Chou days lack courage and are unfavorable. Those born on Ren Yin or Gui Mao days are noble. Those born on Jia Chen or Yi Si days are kind-hearted. Those born on Bing Wu or Ding Wei days are kind-hearted. Those born on Wu Shen or Ji You days have heads that do not last long [or early death], and those born on Geng Xu or Xin Hai days are of low status. Those born on Ren Zi or Gui Chou days are of low status. Those born on Jia Yin or Yi Mao days are brave. Those born on Bing Chen or Ding Si days rise suddenly to nobility. Those born on Wu Wu or Ji Wei days require careful consideration. Those born on Geng Shen or Xin You days are brave but sorrowful. Those born on Ren Xu or Gui Hai days are distressed and of low status.
The *Chan Jing* states: A boy born on Zi day who survives three days and three months will be joyful; he will die at age 72 (one Jiazi cycle), belonging to Sang Wood. Another view says: If he survives nine years, he will become a ruler, ultimately benefiting his parents.
A boy born on Chou day who survives four days and five months will be noble; he will die at age 66, belonging to Sang Wood. Another view says: He will be wealthy and noble, benefiting his parents, but will suffer from abdominal ailments.
A boy born on Yin day who survives five days and four months will be wealthy; he will die at age 67, belonging to Song Wood. Another view says: His heart will be brave and fierce; he will like land, houses, and livestock, but will not benefit his parents, though his mind will be naturally peaceful.
A boy born on Mao day who survives six days and two months will be poor; he will die at age 80, belonging to Yang Wood. Another view says: He will marry three times, suffer from abdominal issues, be upright and broad-minded but unsuitable for Daoist practices.
A boy born on Chen day who survives seven days and three months will suffer many illnesses; he will die at age 73, belonging to Yang Wood. Another view says: His heart will be troubled by poverty.
A boy born on Si day who survives one day and two months will live to sixty-six years, belonging to Dang Wood. Another view says: He will be wealthy with two wives.
A boy born on Wu day who survives seven days and three months will marry two wives; he will die at age 69, belonging to Gui Wood. Another view says: He will harm his parents but will be wealthy in horses.
A boy born on Wei day who survives three days and twenty-one days will become an official; he will die at age 85, belonging to Tao Wood. Another view says: He will be brave.
