Treats postpartum fever, spontaneous sweating, and body pain; this condition is named "Rulao" (Postpartum Debility).
Huangqi (Astragali Radix) (1 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (7 qian), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) (5 qian). Use 1 jin of mutton, boil to make a decoction, remove the meat, add the aforementioned herbs, decoct again, and take. If lochia remains incomplete, add Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, acrid and hot, promotes blood circulation); if lochia has cleared, add Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma); if there is cold, add Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus); if there is heat, add Shengdihuang juice (Rehmanniae Radix); if there is qi stagnation, add Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma).
These are medicines pertaining to the Hand and Foot Taiyin and Jueyin meridians. Renshen tonifies qi and secures the Wei (Defensive) qi; Danggui nourishes blood and harmonizes the Ying (Nutritive) blood; Shengjiang is acrid and warm, guiding qi-invigorating herbs into the Qi level to generate new blood; Mutton is sweet and hot, using substances belonging to Qi and Blood to tonify deficiency and debility; thus, heat recedes and sweating stops.
This formula, excluding Renshen and Huangqi, using only Mutton (1 jin), Shengjiang (5 liang), and Danggui (3 liang), is named Danggui Shengjiang Roushang Tang (Cinnamon Twig, Ginger, and Lamb Decoction) (from *Jin Gui Yao Lue*): Treats...
(from *Jin Gui Yao Lue*)
Women during pregnancy should take it regularly (Women with deficient blood and internal heat causing restless fetus, as well as those with repeated miscarriages or difficult labor, should all take it).
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (1 jin each), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (0.5 jin). Grind into powder. Take mixed with wine, twice daily.
These are medicines pertaining to the Foot Taiyin, Jueyin meridians, and the Chong and Ren vessels. When the Chong and Ren vessels have abundant blood, they can nourish the fetus and ensure fetal stability; Chuanxiong, Danggui, and Shaoyao nourish blood and benefit the Chong and Ren vessels; furthermore, during pregnancy, it is appropriate to clear heat and cool blood; if blood does not flow recklessly, the fetus remains stable; Huangqin nourishes Yin and retreats Yang, clearing Stomach heat; Baizhu tonifies the Spleen and dries dampness, also clearing Stomach heat (Fetal Qi is attached to the Spleen; Spleen deficiency means the placental attachment has no support, hence prone to falling); when the Spleen and Stomach are healthy, they can transform and transport refined essences, converting them into blood to nourish the fetus, thereby naturally avoiding nausea and vomiting (morning sickness).
The *Yi Jian Fang* adds Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus) to treat amenorrhea for three or four months, or menstruation occurring twice in one month (Amenorrhea lasting several months is due to blood deficiency; nourishing with Chuanxiong and Danggui can consolidate...).
Treats uterine obesity (excess fat accumulation in the uterus) preventing conception (Obese women who cannot conceive do so because the uterus is filled and blocked by fat, thus unable to receive the embryo).
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Banxia Qu (Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum with Fermented Dough), Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma) (1 liang each), Fuling (Poria), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (5 qian each), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (2 qian each). Make pills with rice porridge.
These are medicines pertaining to the Foot Taiyin and Jueyin meridians. Juhong, Banxia, and Baizhu dry dampness to eliminate phlegm; Xiangfu and Shenqu regulate Qi to resolve stagnation; Chuanxiong disperses depression to invigorate blood, thus opening blockages and unblocking obstructions; Fuling and Gancao also remove dampness, harmonize the Middle Jiao, and assist the generation of vital energy (Obesity with infertility is mostly caused by excessive phlegm-dampness...).
