Book: Yi Fang Ji Jie (Collection of Prescriptions) Author: Wang Ang Dynasty: Qing Chapter: Jin Yin Hua Jiu (Honeysuckle Wine) / La Fan Wan (Beeswax and Alum Pill) / Tuo Li San (Support Interior Powder) Category: Formulas
[Translation]
Treats all types of carbuncles, sores, and malignant ulcers, regardless of the location. Whether it is Lung Abscess (pulmonary suppurative disease) or Intestinal Abscess (intestinal suppurative disease), taking it at the initial stage yields miraculous effects.
Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos, 5 liang; dried form is also acceptable, but its efficacy and speed are inferior to the fresh form), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang). Add two bowls of water, decoct until one bowl remains, then add one bowl of wine; simmer slightly. Divide into three doses, consumed within one day and night. For severe cases, take two doses per day. Continue until bowel movements and urination become unobstructed, indicating that the medicinal power has reached the affected area. Externally, use the fresh herb, mash it thoroughly, mix with wine, and apply.
This prescription acts on the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian and Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. Jinyinhua is cold in nature, capable of clearing heat and detoxifying; sweet in taste, it nourishes blood and tonifies deficiency. It is a sacred medicine for treating sores and ulcers. Gancao is also a premier agent for supporting the stomach and detoxifying.
In this formula, using Jinyinhua (2 liang) and Gancao (1 liang), added with Huangjiu (Yellow Wine, 4 liang), stewed in a double-boiler method, it is named Huidu Jinyinhua Tang (Return-Toxin Honeysuckle Decoction): used to treat...
Appendix: Rendong Gao (Honeysuckle Paste) (Jinyinhua, also known as Rendong Teng [Lonicerae Caulis]): Collect fresh flowers in April, crush them to extract juice, and boil down into a paste. Take with tea or wine as desired. Nourishes yin and retreats yang, tonifies...
(Li Xun)
Treats all kinds of sores, carbuncles, and malignant toxins. Take this pill first to protect the membranes and support the interior, preventing the toxin from attacking the Heart. It is also suitable for injuries caused by venomous insects, snakes, or dogs.
Huangla (Beeswax, 2 liang), Baifan (Alumen, 1 liang). First melt the beeswax, wait until it cools slightly, then add the alum, mix evenly, and form into pills. Take with wine, 10 pills per dose...
Toxic pathogens.
This prescription acts on the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian. The Heart is the monarch organ and is not easily invaded by pathogenic factors. However, in cases of carbuncles, sores, or snake/dog bites, if the toxin attacks upward to the Heart, life will be immediately endangered. Huangla is sweet and warm; Baifan is sour and astringent. Both can consolidate the membranes, protect the heart, relieve pain, expel pus, and prevent the toxic qi from invading internally. Therefore, they are used for various conditions...
Treats the initial onset of all malignant sores, Fabei (large abscess on the back), Dingju (carbuncle-like lesions), Biandu (inguinal lymphadenitis, etc.), characterized by a wiry, surging, full, and rapid pulse, with severe swelling indicating impending suppuration (a wiry, surging, full, and rapid pulse indicates excess-heat syndrome).
Jinyinhua, Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Muli (Ostreae Concha), Zaojiaoci (Gleditsiae Spina), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra)...
This prescription acts on the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian and Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. Jinyinhua clears heat and detoxifies, serving as the principal drug for sores and carbuncles. Danggui and Chishao regulate Ying (Nutritive) Qi and Blood; Dahuang and Mangxiao (Mirabilite) purge gastric heat. Huangqin clears Lung fire; Muli softens hardness and resolves phlegm. Lianqiao and Huafen dissipate nodules and expel pus. Zaojiaoci is sharp and penetrating, reaching the disease site directly to disperse the lesion (Li Dongyuan said...).
