Obese individuals often suffer from Qi deficiency, as do those with weak constitutions or those who have not yet recovered their primordial essence after an illness. Sudden physical exertion can damage the meridians, causing the hands and feet to become soft and flaccid, rendering them immobile. It is necessary to slowly administer formulas that greatly tonify Qi and Blood to achieve efficacy; taking powders will hardly cure it. (The formula is seen later.)
In a cow that has died of disease, there must be places where toxins accumulate. If one mistakenly eats the meat from these toxic areas, unceasing abdominal pain ensues. Without medicinal or acupuncture treatment, awaiting death is inevitable.
If prolapsed anus persists for a long time without reduction, the fatty fluids will inevitably dry up, making rapid repositioning particularly difficult. This is due to Qi deficiency failing to secure the interior. Internally, administer Yiqi Tang (Benefit Qi Decoction) to lift the sinking Qi; externally, use a fumigation and washing formula (both formulas are seen later). As long as the internal intestine remains warm, it can be reduced; if exposed to cold, it will prolapse again. It takes about a month for the condition to completely resolve.
When鼓胀 (Drum Distension) and other diseases occur, the Spleen and Stomach functions must be declining, meaning the power of digestion and transformation has been lost early on. Mistakenly eating mixed beans causes obstruction in the Middle Jiao, leading to further condensation of Yin pathogens and difficulty in ascending the Clear Yang. Consequently, patients often present with excessive wheezing and fullness, becoming incurable.
Spleen deficiency fails to control water, causing water to overflow into the skin, resulting in generalized edema, known as Zizhong (Fetal Edema). Additionally, the fetus in the abdomen absorbs maternal blood daily, further weakening the Middle Qi and exacerbating water accumulation. Thus, during delivery, water may gush out like a bucket, causing both mother and infant to die from dehydration. One must administer Buqi Shuntai Fang (Tonify Qi and Smooth Fetus Formula) three months before delivery, continuing until labor begins, to save both lives. If tonification is mistakenly used postpartum, it will obstruct lochia discharge and cause complications.
After an infant is born, if the Zongjin (Main Tendon at the base of the tongue) is too short and connects to the lower lip, the infant cannot suckle milk. Use scissors to cut the lower lip up to the Zongjin at the base of the tongue, then stop immediately to rapidly arrest bleeding. If the Zongjin is injured, unceasing blood flow will result, endangering life.
For a newborn whose anus is wrapped in a thin membrane with no opening, use scissors to cut open the thin membrane, apply medicine to rapidly stop bleeding, and the anus will naturally become patent.
Children’s Yuan Qi (Primordial Qi) is not yet fully developed. If prolonged illness leads to disharmony, the Zang-Fu organs are especially deficient, leading to blindness, kyphosis (hunchback), or foot lameness and hand weakness. Regarding such various physiological disabilities, early remediation is preferable to avoid permanent defects.
Dull pain under the left breast radiates to the hypochondrium and ribs, accompanied by coughing, and also hurts during defecation. The area is hard, swollen, and difficult to suppurate, preventing lying on the left side. This is caused by Liver Qi stagnation or blood stasis from excessive effort, termed Ganyong (Liver Abscess). Treat with Xiaojian Sanjie (Eliminate Hardness and Dissipate Nodules) method. (The formula is seen later.)
