Whenever there are sores at the corners of the mouth, burn winter okra roots that have been stored for years and are about to rot into ash. Apply hot compresses with this ash; it is excellent.
For Yanwen sores (cracks at the corner of the mouth), use dry branches of white poplar, burn them on iron to collect the ash, and apply as a hot compress; it is excellent.

For Elu sores (sores with foul discharge), pound scallion greens and apply to the sore opening. Moxa cones should be burned on the medicine, allowing heat to penetrate internally for healing.

Another prescription: Burn sheep dung and hemp root until smoke stops, mix with ointment and apply. If there is exudate, apply dry powder.
For malignant sores resembling fire burns, dry horse dung in the sun, boil in river water for ten boils, strain the juice, and wash the area.
For body sores and head sores, apply Acorus calamus powder, three times daily and twice at night.
For malignant sores lasting ten years without healing, resembling leprosy, burn one snake skin into powder, mix with lard for application; vinegar mixture is also acceptable.
Another prescription: Take one bitter gourd, crush it, boil to extract juice, wash the sore opening three times daily. Boiling and applying is also very good for tinea. First wash with rice water; heal in three days.

For fingers painful as if falling off, mix lard and salt, boil until melted, insert finger while hot, keep for a long time. *Qianjin Yi Fang* suggests adding dried ginger.
For cramping pain in fingers and toes, mix soy sauce liquid and honey, apply warm.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on the tip of the finger, seven moxa cones.
For inverted toenails/fingernails (Ni Lu), which occur from scratching head on toilet and sitting back down, rub backwards with finger twenty-one times (two sevens); it heals.
For frozen fingers, boil three sheng of horse dung in water, soak for half a day; it heals.
For feet cracking in winter and summer, boil one sheng of chicken manure in two sheng of water for several boils, let cool slightly, soak for half a day; heals. Horse dung can also be used.
Another prescription: Dry sheep glue, paste with old cloth.
For Nine Leaks (various fistulas), refine pine resin, powder it, fill the fistula hole completely, apply three or four times daily; heals in seven days.

For all cold sores, burn roundworms vomited by humans, powder. First wash sore with Licorice decoction, then apply ash; all heal. Be careful with diet.
For recurrent rat leak sores, use unwatered lard, crush fresh Rehmannia root, submerge in lard, boil six or seven times. Wash sore with lye from mulch ash, remove bad juices, apply this ointment, change once daily.
For rat leak swollen nodes not yet suppurated, place cypress leaves on the swelling, roast salt on the leaves to warm compress, allow heat to descend; it dissipates.
For mole cricket sores, use oak leaf ash. First boil oak leaves in rice water, wash with juice, dry, then insert ash into the sore.
For bee sting sores where itching spreads, warm compress with roasted salt for three nights and four days. If not healed, after one hundred days it forms a hard mass like a stone four or five cun long, three cun wide, with holes made by bees, numbering hundreds. Use sulfur according to amount, melt with burning candle, apply to holes; soon dozens of bees appear. Heal only when all bees are gone.
Another prescription: Human feces, snake skin ash, mix with lard from the twelfth lunar month for application.
Another prescription: Beehive ash, mix with lard from the twelfth lunar month, apply into the hole.
For Scrofula (Luo Li), mix male chicken dung ash with lard from the twelfth lunar month and seal.
For Dung beetle sores, mix cow dung ash with lard from the twelfth lunar month for application.

Another prescription: Apply dry cow dung powder; if itchy, scrape off, reapply thickly until healed.

For earthworm sores, powder earthworm feces and chicken manure, mix with marrow from the lower jaw of a pig sacrificed to the Earth God, and apply.
For scorpion stings with five or six connected holes, pound wormwood root juice and apply into holes.
For snake bite sores, mix snake skin ash with lard from the twelfth lunar month and seal.
For Diandang (spider) bites, pound Trichosanthes kirilowii root and apply until healed. Avoid strong flavors.
For sparrow-like sores, apply sow dung ash mixed with lard from the twelfth lunar month; insects emerge shaped like sparrows.
For purulent sores, mix peach blossom powder with lard; sealing is best.
For stone sores protruding from both ends causing chills and fever, mix Sophora root with spring water and apply.
Moxibustion method for leaks: Two he of Lepidium seeds, one sheng of fermented soybeans, pound until extremely hot, form cakes the size of large coins, thickness about two fen. Place one cake directly on the fistula opening.

For oral sores not healing for a long time, spreading to chest, and sores not healing for over three years, decoct Rosa rugosa root juice thickly, hold in mouth and swallow slowly, three times daily and twice at night.
Another prescription: Apply Artemisia anomala ash; knows effect after one night, heals after two nights. If there is exudate, spit it out, do not swallow.
For Tinea, pound Cirsium juice and take orally. Taking Rehmannia juice is also good. Burn one whole snake skin, take with wine. Donkey urine is also good. Pound Datura root, mix with honey for application. (Some versions omit 'root').

Another prescription: One jin of Seaweed (Hai Zao) (some say three liang), one sheng of wheat flour, one sheng of three-year-old vinegar. Dry flour powder, alternate mixing with vinegar until exhausted, pound into powder, take one fangcun bi with wine, three times daily. Avoid straining effort.
For Goiter with upper Qi and shortness of breath, moxa Feishu (BL13) one hundred cones.
For Goiter with upper Qi and chest fullness, moxa Yunmen (LU2) fifty cones.
Do not treat Flesh Tumors (Rou Liu); treatment kills. Also says no acupuncture or moxibustion.
For Yin sores, take twenty willow branches the size of a toe, three chi long, boil in water until very hot. Cover swelling with old cloth and felt, use hot willow branches to alternately press/poke; thus heals.
For Impetigo (Jin Yin Chuang), apply hot pressed pancake. Also treats wet tinea.
Another prescription: Old pig jawbone, smash and burn until oil comes out, apply warm.
Another prescription: Take Melia azedarach bark or branches, burn to ash for application. If dry, apply lard. Treats pediatric alopecia sores and all malignant sores.
