Discussion: Whenever phlegm-fluid retention is severe, with frequent spitting of clear fluid at irregular intervals, the root cause lies in excessive consumption of frozen beverages, leading to entrenched coldness in the Spleen and Stomach and weakened Qi, unable to digest food and fluids.
When food and fluids enter the Stomach, they transform into cold water, causing continuous vomiting.
Chi Shi Zhi San (Red Kaolin Powder) is indicated for this condition:
Chi Shi Zhi (Halloysitum Rubrum) (3 jin)
The above single ingredient is crushed and sifted into a powder. Take one fang cun bi per dose, three times daily, administered with wine or water as desired. Gradually increase the dose to three fang cun bi. After consuming three jin, vomiting of clear fluid will cease for life. For patients with phlegm-fluid retention who have failed to respond to various medications, taking only one jin of this remedy results in a cure.
