Eighty-one Methods, Two Verses of Rhyme
If the Yang pulse at Cun Kou (pulse-taking position at the wrist) before the Guan (Bar) position on the left hand is absent (Yang Jue), it indicates a deficiency of the Small Intestine pulse. The patient suffers from Bi syndrome (obstruction and pain) in the umbilical region, and hernia or masses in the lower abdomen. The main symptom is cold qi rushing up to the heart monthly. Treatment involves needling the Pericardium channel point located in the middle of the transverse crease of the palm, inserting one fen.
If the Yang pulse at Cun Kou before the Guan position on the left hand is excess (Yang Shi), it indicates an Excess pattern of the Small Intestine. The patient suffers from urgency below the heart, Heat Bi syndrome, internal heat in the Small Intestine, and dark yellow urine. Treatment involves needling the Hand-Taiyang channel point located one cun posterior to the base of the second finger, where there is a pulsating artery.
The Yin Du (Yin Capital) point is located half a cun lateral to the midline Ren Mai (Conception Vessel). Moxibustion according to age (Sui Nian Zhuang) treats Heat diseases of the Small Intestine.
The Hun She (Soul Residence) point is located one cun lateral to both sides of the umbilicus. Moxibustion of 100 moxa cones treats diarrhea with pus and blood from the Small Intestine; for children, reduce the dosage. Additionally, moxibustion of 7 cones at Xiao Chang Shu (Small Intestine Shu) is indicated.
Method for Moxibustion treating Wind-Dizziness:
Measure the width of the mouth horizontally with a rope to obtain the measurement in cun. Then, use one end of the rope to measure from the nose to both nostrils to get the nasal width. Take half of this nasal width measurement and fold it within the full mouth width measurement. First, locate the center of the hair whorl on the head and apply moxibustion there. Measure four directions (left, right, front, back) with the rope and apply moxibustion at the ends of the rope. Taking the anterior side as the front, determine the number of moxa cones based on age. Perform moxibustion three times a year; wait until the sores heal before continuing, with the same number of cones as before. If applied too quickly, Fire Qi may ascend. If there are multiple hair whorls, choose the one closest to the nose. If the whorl is close to the forehead, it is also suitable. If scarring on the face is a concern, avoid that area, but if the disease is severe, this method should not be disregarded.
Method for Treating Sudden Epilepsy/Mania:
Apply 3 moxa cones to the depression above the penis (near the urethral opening); urination becoming clear indicates recovery. This is the acupoint location.
Additionally, apply 3 cones to the glans penis.
Additionally, apply 3 cones to the nipple.
Additionally, apply 7 cones to the hairy area on the big toe.
Additionally, apply 30 cones to the Du Mai (Governing Vessel), located directly above the philtrum, entering the hairline by three finger-breadths.
Additionally, gradually apply 300 cones each to Tian Chuang (Sky Window) and Bai Hui (Hundred Convergences); make the moxa cones very small.
Another method: Apply 5 cones each to the hairline above the ears.
Method for Treating Invasion by Evil Spirits causing Trance, Tremors, and Jaw Lock:
At the philtrum (Ren Zhong) and the nails of the big toes on both hands and feet, place the moxa cone such that half is on the nail and half on the flesh. If seven cones do not stop the symptoms, increase to fourteen cones. Make the cones the size of a sparrow's droppings.
For Mania and hearing ghost voices, needle under the nail of the big toe on the foot, inserting slightly and stopping.
Method for Treating Adult Epilepsy and Pediatric Convulsions:
Moxibustion at the second thoracic vertebra and the coccyx. Measure the distance between them with a rope and fold it in half; one end marks the spine. After marking these three points, break the rope into three equal parts and arrange them in a 'Y' shape. Apply moxibustion at the central point and the two lower points along both sides of the spine, totaling five locations. Mark these five points with cinnabar. Apply 100 cones to each point. Use a shaved bamboo stick for measurement, which is more accurate than a rope.
For violent cursing and striking others, termed "Hot Yang Wind": Apply 1 cone each to the corners of the mouth (where red and white skin meet).
Additionally, apply 30 cones to the scrotal seam. Have the patient stand, mark the spot with a pen while lying down and pushing the testicles upward. Apply moxibustion, avoiding the center near the testicles to prevent damaging Yang Qi.
Method for Sudden Onset of Mad Speech and Ghost Voices:
Tightly bind the thumbs of both hands with a steamer strap. Then moxa the hypochondriac regions opposite the elbows. Apply 7 cones to each side simultaneously. Soon, the ghost voice will recite its name and beg to leave. Ask questions slowly, then release the hands.

Diagram and Rhyme for Needling Evil Ghost Diseases:
All evil diseases originate from various sources. Their diverse manifestations reveal the beginnings of mania and evil. Some are silent, some speak excessively and deceitfully, some sing or cry, some laugh or groan, some sleep or sit in ditches eating filth, some expose their bodies, some wander day and night...
Bian Que said: For diseases caused by a hundred evils, there are thirteen acupuncture points. Begin needling at Gui Gong (Ghost Palace). Next, needle Gui Xin (Ghost Faith), then Gui Lei (Ghost Rampart), then Gui Xin (Ghost Heart). It is not necessary to needle all; five or six points suffice. If it is the essence of an evil insect, it will speak of its origins; verification proves true. Immediately the spirit is obtained; it is not necessary to take its life, only to seek its departure. Needle from the left for men and from the right for women. If several points do not elicit speech, needle all over. Follow the rhyme; prepare acupuncture and moxibustion accordingly.
