Twelve methods, accompanied by one treatise.
For xiaoke (wasting-thirst syndrome) causing dryness of the throat, moxa the three points of Weixiashu (Stomach Lower Shu), each with 100 moxa cones (Zhuang). The location is below the eighth thoracic vertebra on the back, at a horizontal distance of three finger-breadths and one cun from the midline.
For xiaoke causing unbearable dry mouth, moxa Xiaochangshu (Small Intestine Shu) with 100 moxa cones, at a horizontal distance of three finger-breadths and one cun.
For xiaoke accompanied by cough and rebellious qi, moxa the points of the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium meridian, with the number of moxa cones corresponding to the patient's age in years.
For xiaoke causing dry mouth, moxa Xiong tang (Chest Hall) with 50 moxa cones.
Additionally, moxa the points of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder meridian with 50 moxa cones.
For xiaoke, with dry mouth and vexation/distress, moxa the points of the Foot-Jueyin Liver meridian with 100 moxa cones.
Additionally, moxa Yangchi (Yang Pool) with 50 moxa cones.
Jian’s method for moxing xiaoke:
First, moxa the tips of the little toes on both hands and feet, as well as the cervical spine vertebrae, with the number of moxa cones corresponding to the patient's age in years.
Additionally, moxa Pangguangshu (Bladder Shu) at a horizontal distance of three finger-breadths and one cun, 30 moxa cones per point, repeating every five days (referred to as "Bao").
Additionally, moxa the two points located four cun below Pishu (Spleen Shu) on the back, one and a half cun lateral to the spinal column on both sides, with the number of moxa cones corresponding to the patient's age in years.
The treatise states: After moxing the aforementioned points, one should boil white dog meat to make a soup/gravy. Avoid using ginger, soy sauce, or fermented soybeans in the diet; green onions and Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus (Xiebai) may be used freely. Boil meat bones to make a light soup; the meat may be eaten. The intake should be gradually increased. Pork must be avoided. Following this method requires persistence for 200 days for recovery.
Additionally, moxa the two points of Shenshu (Kidney Shu) and Yaomu (Waist Eye). Yaomu is located three cun below Shenshu, one and a half cun lateral to the spine on both sides, identified by pressing until an indentation is felt.
Additionally, Guanyuan (Convergence of Origin) and one point on each side two cun lateral to it.
Additionally, Yinshi (Yin Market) consists of two points located above the knee, three cun above Futu (Riding Dog) and adjacent to the knee.
Ququan, Yinggu, Yinlingquan, Fuliou: These points are highly effective in stopping frequent and excessive urination without damaging Yang Qi; they can also stop enuresis. Taichong, Zhongfeng, RanGu, Taibai, Dadu, Zuyang, Xingjian, Dazhun, Yinbai, Yongquan: Each of these points receives 100 moxa cones. In total, there are 37 points on the abdomen, back, and feet. Among them, Shenshu, Yaomu, Guanyuan, and Shuidao receive 30 moxa cones each. Repeat every five days, accumulating up to 150 cones per session is optimal. Yongquan receives 10 moxa cones. Dazhun, Yinbai, and Xingjian receive 3 moxa cones each; all other points receive 7 moxa cones. Repeat every five days. After completing three courses of moxibustion, treatment may cease. If moxing the Yin meridians is ineffective, moxing the Yang meridians may be attempted. The Yang meridians are located on the dorsal aspect of the foot; careful selection is required, and efficacy is assured. In urgent cases, Feishu (Lung Shu) and the Lung Mu (Alarm) point may be moxed simultaneously. Refer to the flow-through acupoint method, with the number of moxa cones following the same protocol as for the Yin meridians.
For symptoms of frequent, scanty, and difficult urination, along with seminal emission upon exertion, this formula/method is extremely effective. Have the person stretch out both hands, join palms, and align the thumbs tightly so that the fingernails are close together. Apply one moxa cone to the fleshy junction at the base of the nails of both thumbs. A natural angle forms behind this junction. Position the moxa cone slightly penetrating onto the nail surface between the two angles. Both thumbs correspond to one moxa cone. Moxa the big toe of the foot using the same method, applying three cones to each. Repeat the moxibustion after three days. This method is highly efficacious.
