Take one *sheng* (approx. 200ml) of lard from a pig that has not been watered, add one stalk of white onion (*Congbai*), and decoct until the onion turns yellow. Wait for it to cool to body temperature. On an empty stomach, in the early morning, consume it all at once. Cover warmly with blankets and lie down; do not eat until after *Shi* hour (3-5 PM), then consume thick rice gruel. After three days, take tonic medicines, as follows:
One sheep liver (finely chopped), one sheep spinal bone (finely chopped), half a *sheng* of powdered *Qu* (Medicated Leaven), ten *jin* (approx. 5kg) of *Gouqigen* (Root Cortex of Lycium Chinense, cut into pieces). Soak the root in three *dou* (approx. 6L) of water.
Mix the above four ingredients together. Add white onion and fermented soybean juice (*Chizhi*) to form a soup-like consistency, decocting until it resembles thick syrup. Eat until full on an empty stomach, divided into three doses. Observe dietary restrictions as previously stated.
One set of sheep viscera (stomach, kidney, heart, lungs) (wash with hot water, finely chop the rest), one *liang* (approx. 37g) of *Hujiao* (Black Pepper), one *liang* of *Bibo* (Long Pepper Fruit), half a *sheng* of *Chixin* (Heart of Fermented Soybeans), two handfuls of white onion (remove core, chop), one *liang* of *Liuniusu* (Cow Butter/Ghee).
Mix the above six ingredients. Decoct in six *sheng* of water over slow heat until reduced to three *sheng*. Strain the dregs. Mix the liquid with the sheep viscera. When slightly cool, place everything inside the sheep stomach. Tie the stomach opening tightly with rope. Prepare another silk bag slightly smaller than the sheep stomach, place the stuffed stomach inside, and boil. Once cooked, remove while hot. Pierce holes using a knife and the silk bag to drain the juices. Consume all the juice at once on an empty stomach. The remaining meat can be eaten freely as food. If sheep viscera are unavailable, sheep bones may be used instead. The formula is as follows:
Two sets of sheep bones (crushed).
Decoct one *dan* (approx. 120L) of water over slight heat until reduced to three *dou* (approx. 6L). Prepare as soup, gruel, or flour-based foods according to dietary preference.
Oil Noodle Formula for Non-Meat Eaters to Tonify Severe Deficiency and Exhaustion
One *sheng* of raw Sesame Oil (*Huma You*), one *sheng* of clear water from washing Zhejiang Japonica Rice (*Zhe Jingmi Gao Qing*).
Decoct the above two ingredients over slight heat until the water evaporates and only clear oil remains. Store it. Take three *ge* (approx. 60ml) of this oil and mix with seven *ge* of salt water. First, blend the salt water and oil thoroughly. Then knead one *jin* (approx. 500g) of flour with this mixture. Prepare the dough according to standard methods. Boil for five or six boils, then remove and place in cold water. Retrieve again, spread on a plate to dry. Then, drop sheets one by one into boiling water and cook according to standard methods. Repeat this boiling process ten times so that the heating nature of the sesame oil is completely eliminated. Finally, drizzle with oil and allow to eat until full.
