Formula 36, with one discussion.
Prescription for treating hemorrhoids:
Take one ox spleen from the twelfth lunar month, roast it until cooked and consume it entirely; the disease will be cured.
Another prescription:
Boil one ox spleen thoroughly, consume it on an empty stomach without salt or soy sauce. If one spleen does not cure the condition, administer another, ensuring it is consumed completely from morning until afternoon (Wei hour).
Prescription for external hemorrhoids:
Crush four sheng of hemp seeds, place them in a raw cloth bag, steam them over rice until fully steamed, then squeeze out the oil. Keep the oil warm in a copper dish. Make a pad from cotton wool, sit on it so that the pad aligns directly with the hemorrhoid opening. Change it after a short while; sitting again will cause worms to exit.
Another prescription:
Crush Polygonum aviculare (Baiji) and extract its juice to make dough into food. Consume on an empty stomach, three times a day. Regular consumption is beneficial.
Prescription for treating hemorrhoids:
Cut three sheng of Fomes fomentarius (Sang'er), add fifteen dou of water, boil down to three sheng. Take one sheng in the morning, three times daily. One dose is completed in three days.
Another prescription:
Make a soup with Fomes fomentarius (Sang'er), season it to taste. Eat until full with rice on an empty stomach. Do not exceed three doses; the disease will be cured.
Another prescription:
Pizhi (one piece, stir-fried), Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Gan Dihuang, five liang), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao Zi), Sophorae Semen (Huai Zi, three liang each), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Gan Jiang), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata (Fuzi, processed), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan), Alumen (Fanshi, calcined), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi, one liang each).
The above ten ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder, and made into pills the size of sophora seeds using refined honey. Take ten pills with warm water, twice daily, gradually increasing to thirty pills. This formula also treats fistula.
Another prescription:
Take ten liang of fresh Phellodendri Cortex (Huai Baipi), crush it thoroughly, and form pills the size of bullet shots. Wrap in cotton and insert into the lower orifice. Continuously consume Polygonum aviculare (Baiji) vegetables and drink their decoction as soup or porridge; this is highly effective.
Prescription for treating itching and pain in the lower region, caused purely by swelling and protrusion of internal flesh:
Soybeans (three sheng, boiled with seven sheng of water over high heat to obtain four sheng of liquid), Phellodendri Cortex (Huai Baipi, cut, six sheng), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, three liang, roasted).
Boil the above ingredients in the soybean liquid to obtain two sheng. Soak old thin cloth in it and apply to the affected area. Replace when cool. Apply three to five times daily.

The above twelve ingredients are crushed and sifted into a powder. Take one cunbi with wine, twice daily.
Prescription for treating hemorrhoids with pus and blood discharge from the lower region, presence of worms, and perforations on the sides:
Take one dan of Phellodendri Cortex (Huai Baipi), boil in water until extremely soft. Remove and place in a wooden basin. Sit in the basin; when the urge to defecate arises, worms will all emerge. Replace when cool. Repeat no more than two or three times.
