Method 40:
Apply seven moxa cones (Zhuang) to the tailbone (Wei Cui Gu), and recovery will be immediate. It is indicated for rectal prolapse (Tuo Gang) and is highly effective.
Alternatively, apply moxibustion to the center of the umbilicus, with the number of cones corresponding to the patient's age (Sui Nian Zhuang).
Methods for treating Ying disease (goiter/cervical masses):
Moxibustion at Fengchi (GB20), located on both sides of the neck at the hairline above the ears, one hundred cones on each side. Also, apply one hundred cones at "Da Wei" (a non-standard or descriptive term here, likely referring to a point near Dazhui); Da Wei is located one and a half cun lateral to Dazhui GV14; apply thirty cones at Xiao Chui Xia. Additionally, locate Chong Yang by extending both arms straight forward until the arm aligns with the head pointing to the nose; apply cones corresponding to the patient's age at each corresponding point on the arms. These constitute five locations totaling nine acupoints. Furthermore, let both hands hang down and apply three hundred cones at the heads of the transverse creases in both axillae; acupuncture is also effective.
For Ying disease, in the depressions on both sides of Jianjing (GB21), apply eighteen cones to the left and seventeen to the right for males; apply eighteen cones to the right and seventeen to the left for females. Repeat until the disease resolves.
For Ying disease accompanied by Qi rebellion and shortness of breath, apply one hundred cones to Feishu (BL13).
For Ying disease accompanied by Qi rebellion and chest fullness, apply fifty cones to Yunmen (LU2).
For Ying disease accompanied by evil Qi, apply one hundred cones to Xiong Tang (likely referring to a point near the sternum, possibly Xinbao or similar, though not a standard name; context implies anterior chest).
Additionally, apply fifty cones to Tianfu (LU8).
Additionally, apply moxibustion to Dazhui (GV14), spaced horizontally by three cun intervals.
Additionally, apply moxibustion to Chongyang (ST42), with cones corresponding to age, located at the outer end of the transverse crease on the lateral aspect of the elbow (Note: The text description corresponds to Quchi LI11, whereas Chongyang ST42 is actually located five cun above the dorsum of the foot).
For Ying disease, apply three hundred cones to Tian Qu, spaced horizontally by three cun intervals.
For Ying Qi causing facial swelling, apply fifty cones to Tongtian (BL27).
For Ying disease, apply moxibustion to Zhongfeng (LR5), with cones corresponding to age.
Methods for treating scrotal swelling (Yuan Chang):
Measure the width of the mouth horizontally with a rush grass, double this measurement, and place a cloth along the transverse lines of the lower abdomen so that the center of the measure aligns with the umbilicus without deviation. Apply cones corresponding to the patient's age at the two ends and the center combined. Post-treatment requires self-care: avoid labor, loud speaking, extreme anger, or excessive laughter.
Additionally, pull the glans penis upward; apply moxibustion at the maximum extent of the pull towards the lateral thighs; proceed similarly for downward pulling, with cones corresponding to age.
Additionally, apply moxibustion to the Foot Jueyin Liver channel points, treating the left side for right-sided pathology and vice versa, three cones each. The Jueyin point is located between the proximal phalanx joint of the big toe. Male hernias are classified into four types: intestinal hernia (Chang Yuan), testicular hernia (Luan Yuan), Qi hernia (Qi Yuan), and water hernia (Shui Yuan). Intestinal and testicular hernias are difficult to cure, while Qi and water hernias respond well to acupuncture and moxibustion. If the testicle swells and enters the abdominal cavity, apply cones corresponding to age to Sanyinjiao (SP6), which is eight cun above the medial malleolus.
Additionally, apply moxibustion corresponding to age at the junction of Jianjing (GB21) and the shoulder/arm.
Additionally, apply one hundred cones to Guanyuan (CV4).
Additionally, apply seven cones to the tip of the little finger, treating the opposite side for ipsilateral symptoms.
For swollen testicles, apply one hundred cones to Yuquan to treat the affected area.
Additionally, apply one hundred cones to Quanyin, repeated three times, located three cun lateral to Henggu (CV12).
For all hernia diseases, if the scrotum swells suddenly, have the patient join both feet and press the thumbnails of both big toes together. Apply one moxa cone to the corner where the two nail tips meet, seven cones.
If the scrotal swelling is about to ulcerate and causes distress, apply five cones to the transverse crease at the base of the big toe.
Additionally, apply fifty cones to the Foot Taiyang Bladder channel as a counter-treatment.
Additionally, apply fifty cones to the Foot Taiyin Spleen channel, one Fu (approx. 4 cun) above the medial malleolus.
Additionally, apply moxibustion to Dadun (LR1), located among the hairs on the big toe, with cones corresponding to age.
Additionally, apply moxibustion corresponding to age at the white flesh margin one cun from the tip on the medial side of the big toe; this is very effective. For bilateral cases, treat both sites.
Additionally, apply fourteen cones on both sides of Henggu (CV12), applying moxibustion flanking the penile shaft.
Additionally, apply ten cones in the texture below the big toe, following the edge of the swelling; this is miraculous.
For pediatric hernia, previously bring the child to a mortar pestle and recite a spell: "Sit still, because child [Name] suffers from scrotal hernia, I apply twenty-one cones to you." After moxibustion, pull the child so the glans points downward, aligning the scrotal seam with the glans, and apply seven cones on the seam. This method has been verified; the moxa cone should be the size of a hairpin head.
For male hernia, straddle a mortar axis, placing the penis on the axis aligned with the front of the glans. Apply moxibustion on the wooden axis with cones corresponding to age; this leads to recovery.
If the testicles swell like a melon and enter the abdominal cavity causing severe pain, apply cones corresponding to age to the transverse crease below the big toe.
Methods for treating excessive sweating (Zhi Han):
For excessive sweating with chills and fever, apply fifty cones to Yuzhen (BL9), needling to a depth of three fen.
For excessive sweating with malaria, apply fifty cones to [missing character].
For night sweats with chills, fever, and aversion to cold, apply moxibustion to Feishu (BL13) with cones corresponding to age, needling to a depth of five fen.
Additionally, apply one hundred cones to Yindu (KI15) on each side, needling to a depth of eight fen using the tonification method. The point is located three cun lateral to Weiguan (Jianzhong/CV15 area).
For excessive sweating, inability to lift the limbs, and weakness, apply fifty cones to Hengwen, located seven cun lateral to the umbilicus.
Additionally, apply fifty cones to Changping, located five cun lateral to the umbilicus, without needling.
